17 Months Today!

Our darling Sweet Pea turned 17 months today! She continues to bring daily doses of laughter and so much love into our lives. Her personality is precious and she has yet to meet a stranger.

Skyler has mastered over 35 words, can undress herself and can even feed herself. She is such a little independent girl. Thank goodness she is still not fussy about food and has yet to abandon her 2 daily naps. While she was in the loving care of her Glammey for five days, Skyler learned how to flush the toilet and attempted to climb out of her crib! She is always on the go, with her pretties around her neck!

Birthday Blast

Skyler had a wonderful evening celebrating Daddy's 48th Birthday this past Tuesday. We enjoyed a steak dinner at the Texas Cattle Company and then strolled around Lake Mirror Park and its Promenade.

We were presently surprised as we walked up on a live music performance by a local Middle School Band. Skyler enjoys music especially bands. She certainly gets entertained during the half time shows at the Dreadnaught football games.

Once the free entertainment concluded, we walked next door to let Skyler discover Lakeland's newest jewel, Barnett Family Park. The play area is covered by rubber and topped by bits of recycled tires to cushion falling children.

During the summer months, 10 ground nozzles and 7 side wall nozzles spray water for children's fun. I can't wait to take our Sweet Pea next year. She'll have a blast. Right next to the water area is a one-of-a-kind playground filled with amazing equipment created in an insect theme. Too cute!

Skyler enjoyed playing around Blinky the Alligator and also the big Florida Panther. These two climbing, whimsical sculptures are located in the spectacular water park area.

By 7PM, we called it a night & decided to head home and relax. It was so much fun watching Daddy & Daughter interact! Definitely a wonderful and memorable Birthday!

Truly Blessed!

I often mention how blessed I am and yesterday proved no different. Huge thank yous to many of Skyler's fan club for all the birthday wishes! I had such a wonderful day with my family and friends. Celebrating my 43rd was awesome!

Thought I would share my greatest birthday gift along with my lovely flowers from my amazing husband!

Pretty in Pink

This cooler weather has brought out warmer outfits and footed pajamas! It's obvious Skyler does not lack for clothes, so it sure is nice to start dressing her in the many "pant outfits" given to her by family members and friends. Doesn't our Princess look so pretty in Pink with those gorgeous blue eyes and blond hair?

Go Team, Go!

We got dressed in our orange and grabbed our pom-poms to watch the Lakeland Dreadnaughts play the Bayside Bears last night. As soon as Skyler saw her spirit shakers, she immediately got excited!

Her excitement carried us all the way to Bryant Stadium.

We sat in our regular seats and Skyler got comfy in Miss Helen's lap, and enjoyed the pre-game activities.

Once the game began, our Sweet Pea jumped into action and helped cheered her Naughts to a 59-34 victory!

She really enjoys the football atmosphere and loves to scream "GO"! I just had to include this last photo of Skyler watching the refs. You'll notice in the top right hand corner in the photo below, the referees talking to Coach Castle, as the fans & Skyler patiently wait. Too cute!

Sharin' the Love!

Skyler is no stranger to sharing. In fact, she'll be the first to share her juice, her food, her books and also her sweet kisses!

This darling girl comes from a family of Football Fans and she can certainly share her love and divide her loyalty amongst three Collegiate teams that are adored by her Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles , Cousins and of course, Mummy & Daddy! Needless to say, Saturdays are always a hoot!

Our B&B Version

This weekend was better than any 5 star Bed & Breakfast! Skyler loves to visit with family, especially if a birthday is involved, and we all know how our precious darling enjoys the Beach! So you guessed it, we spent Saturday celebrating Auntie Kevie's Birthday in Orlando and after Church on Sunday, we wiggled our toes in the sand while we soaked up the sun on Madeira Beach.

We waited for our dinner reservation on the outdoor patio at the Blue Martini. The weather was gorgeous and even though house rules states NO children under 21 allowed and since Skyler didn't have a fake i.d. she had to rely on her charm. Not a problem, those baby blue eyes work every time!

After loving on Auntie Kevie, a.k.a the Birthday girl, Skyler found her way into Cousin Jodi's lap.

Skyler loves to read books, so she wasted no time diving into the Martini menu. Cousin Jodi read off the extensive list of 42 superior martinis, but Skyler settled her taste buds on an apple juice, straight up on the rocks! All that reading stirred up an appetite and Sky helped feed Jodi before jumping into Cousin Jared's arms.

We decided to head over to the Cheescake Factory since our beeper would be going off shortly. Inside the Mall at Millenia were shooting water fountains. Water=Love for Skyler! It was great entertainment during those last 10 minutes of waiting. Enjoy the pictures......

After enjoying a wonderful meal and choosing from over 70 varieties of quality, hand made cheescakes for dessert, it was time to head home just after 9:30. Skyler always interacts well with others, even when she missed that mid afternoon nap! We said our goodbyes and our Princess fell asleep before we even pulled out of the parking lot.

SUNDAY:

Ahhhhhh the beach in October! Only in Florida can you run around in a bathing suit while getting a tan during the Fall season. The weather was lovely and we stayed till 6PM. Skyler sported her new swimming attire as she played in the sand & water and even tried to help a stranger with his cooler. I hope you all take pleasure in these random shots of her day!
