Friday Bliss

Could you imagine how wonderful it would be to wake up to this each morning?

Well, let me be the first to say how amazing it is, no matter what day of the week! Skyler is 39 weeks old today. Still the happy little girl that is now walking along the edge of the couch. It's so cute to watch her pull herself up. With her belly sticking out in one direction and her rear protruding in the other, she looks like a delighted penguin! Because she has gotten so very mobile, I have to contain her to a visible area while I work. Tom and I purchased the Superyard XT. It provides her with plenty of spacious play while keeping her in a maximum area of safety. It's portable and forms many different shapes. Here she is in her new playpen.

Skyler doesn't yet have a command for language, but she grunts, squeals, and uses hand motion to get her point across. She pushes away things she does not want, and reaches her arms out to those she does. She definitely knows Daddy. Skyler will pat Tom's chest while saying Da-Da. It's so sweet to watch.
Thought I would share some pictures of her during a rare moment of sitting still. And yes, the tongue is still popular!

Books and music are still tops on her play list. As we continue to enjoy our Friday, we also hope that yours is as much fun!

Outside Fun!

Just when our darling Skyler was enjoying the outdoors in this wonderful sunny, 80 degree weather, Mother Nature had to swoop in and change the forcast to 50 degrees with rain. We did manange to enjoy a few days of that wonderful weather while playing on her new swing set from Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Charles. As you can see in the pictures, we started when the sun was up and finished at dusk. Skyler just loves her swing. Up, up and away she went......

It was an afternoon filled with amusement. Skyler even took a minute to pose by her slide while receiving a big kiss from her pal, Laney. As you can see, those eyes are still sparkling blue!

Sunshine & Then Some!

For the past three weeks, any Floridian would have thought they've been living up North! Venturing outside required (for me) plenty of layered clothing and some mental toughness. I've always said, anything under 70 degrees was pure sinful! Yes, call me a wimp! Well, finally this weekend reached the mid 70's. It was total sunshine, especially since Glammey came to visit!

The three of us spent the day shopping at Lakeside Village. It's an open air shopping mall filled with a delectable selection of restaurants and beautiful clothing stores. It was such a perfect day to be outside.

After our day of shopping, we cruised over to Starbuck's and hung out at The Bar! lol..... Auntie Kevie has gotten me hooked on their Skinny Lattes. 90 calories of pure heaven, packing 9 grams of protein. Here we are enjoying our delicious jolt of espresso! Skyler loved all the noises coming from the coffee machines.

After a fun day, we arrived home around 6PM, so it was time for Skyler to get in her jammies and enjoy her last hour with Glammey before bedtime.

I want to share another Valentine's Day card that Skyler received from her Idaho friend, Ron. Many of you may recall about the post I wrote, titled, "Golden Girl." Ron is Uncle Bogie's brother and sent Skyler his collection of Golden Books. Ron loves to make cards for Skyler and below is her Valentine's Day card. Another wonderful keepsake......

Valentine's Day

Skyler is surrounded by so much love from her family and our friends, so when Valentine's Day approached, it was another day in Paradise! She celebrated her very first Heart Day with a new teddy bear from Glammey and Papa.

She also received cards from Auntie Kevie & Uncle Larry and of course, us, plus a beautiful outfit from Glammey & Papa.

Cupid brought Skyler her very own "boat". She loves water and I am so excited for the warmer weather to approach so she can start enjoying her new pool.

And yes, the day is never completed without a little exercise and fun from the help of Laney.

I've been trying so hard to get some pictures of her two teeth to share with you all. It's a bit blury, but I was finally able to capture her little lower peggies!

TGIF!

Our sweet Skyler is celebrating her 37th week today and as you can see below, she is quite excited that it's Friday! She's such a pro at scaling the furniture and walking along it! I should have known she was going to be an active little girl when I figured out that she shares the same birthday (just a different year) of Mount Everest being reached by humans for the first time and the first running of the Indianapolis 500!!

Skyler can be found standing up in her crib, singing her morning tunes, as she waits for Daddy or I to help her begin the day. She is still the friendly, flirty baby and continues to be comfortable around people other than her family.

We wish you all a lovely day and hope you enjoy a few more morning shots of our precious beauty!
