Got Naughts?

Lakeland High School Football kicked off their season on August 24th. At a young age of 3 months, Skyler began watching the Dreadnaughts dominate. Three years later, the team's winning tradition continues and so does Sky's enthusiasm for the "Orange-n-Black"! We've been to the rain-free games and it always starts off with Skyler giving the "Thumbs-UP" before leaving the house.
Cheering on her Naughts!

Making some Cow Bell noise.....

All smiles with Mummy & Daddy below....

Skyler got up close and personal to see the Golf Cart helmet that leads the team out of the "Runway to Victory" before each game. She also got to play on the new artificial turf after the Friday football victory. With the Jumbotron and the Battleship & Bell, Bryant Stadium is truly second to none!

And showing her Dreadnaught pride with Clayton!
Skyler was so excited to be on field. She practiced her sprints and burned off some energy.

She was all smiles while visiting with Pastor George. He couldn't believe how much she has grown in the past year. We were blessed to have Pastor George christened our Angel on her 1st birthday.
I was definitely ALL SMILES when Tom introduced me to Maurkice Pouncey. Tom coached him over 6 years ago while he was a standout lineman with the Naughts, winning a State & National Championship. He had a successful career at the University of Florida winning another National Championship. Maurkice now plays center for my FAVORITE team of all time, The Pittsburgh Steelers! He made ALL PRO his Rookie year.
In the picture below, we are talking about my love for the Steelers and how I've been a fan since 1974! He told me he was born in 1989 and thought it was quite impressive that Coach Short married a Steeler Girl. Maurkice was in town since the Steeler's had a bye week. What a great way to end the night! Plus, the Dreadnaughts are now 6-0.

A Girl Thang!

It was only a matter of time before the Princess was asking about nail polish. She has always loved the colors on Gammey's fingers and toes, but just recently she has been talking about a classmate and her nail polish. Call me Mrs. Mean, but I told her she was a bit too young for nail painting. Leave it to Skyler to let her imagination go into over drive.
While I was cooking dinner, Sky was spending her free time coloring....just not in a coloring book. It really made me laugh when I popped in to check on her and saw this......

It makes me realize more and more each day that our little tot is turning into a young girl. She loves dresses and anything girly, which explains her crayon adventure.

Awana Time!

Another year for AWANA has begun! Last year Skyler was in the first level of AWANA called Puggles. That weekly class introduced Skyler to biblical precepts at church and equipped us to teach them at home. Cubbies will celebrate Sky's spiritual development by helping her develop respect for God, His Son and His Word.
Cubbies meets every Wednesday evening at our church from 6:30-8PM. Her handbook features parent-child activities for home. We'll be leading Skyler through handbook sections called Bear Hugs, to prepare for the next club meeting. Each Bear Hug includes optional activities, called "Under The Apple Tree", for reviewing Bible verses and lessons learned earlier.

The Princess has always been a quick learner so I'm certain she won't have any difficulties reviewing the verses during club time. Working through the handbook with Skyler will  develop her spiritual leadership and help install a lifelong biblical worldview. Also, Cubbies will help lead Skyler to God early so she will respect and trust Him for life!
Another "Thumbs Up" from the Princess before heading out to her first Cubbie Class!
Her uniform vest has been ordered (below) and she'll wear it each week, showing her pride! Also, it will display all her emblems that she can potentially earn. Kinda reminds me of my Girl Scout days. I'm excited for her to learn more about God- the greatness of His love and His word - and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior.

Yes, Please!

When Skyler and Resse are ever asked if they want to do anything together, the reply is always, "Yes, Please!"  100% of the time and the excitement can be heard in their sweet voices. Anyway, it came to no surprise when I asked these two gal pals if they wanted to go to the Museum after school. It was a fun afternoon that started with a brisk walk, hand in hand, to the entrance of Explorations V.

Once inside, they explored three floors of every exhibit, starting with Publix, where shopping is a pleasure! Amazing how their imagination always begins here! They had a blast filling up their buggies, operating the scanning register and even restocking the shelves.

More discovery ahead.....

The tree house is always a hot tot spot!

Elevator ride (hands held) to "O" is for Oranges...

Lunch Time.....

After all the action packed opportunities for learning, the girls munched on a snack while driving home. Another fabulous day shared between the Princesses!
