3rd Annual Here We Come

The 3rd Annual Green Family Reunion begins NOW and the mountains are calling!! We will be surrounded by the grandeur and beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee for five days. Although my Daddy won't be with us physically, I'm certain his love will be among us.
I just know this secluded cabin will exceed our requirements of luxury, open and spacious gathering with incredible amenities. Our family is renting (the above/below) 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom three level log cabin, complete with an indoor jacuzzi and pool table. I'm looking forward to stepping out on the deck and soaking up the sunshine and views.
Be sure to check back next week for all the fun details and many pictures of the Princess with her family!

Flying Away....

Mirror Mirror on the way, who's the fairest of them all....Princess Skyler! Yes, my sweet baby is growing up right before my eyes. Just recently, Skyler asked for a Princess Room with "lots of pink", so it was bye-bye lady bug nursery and hello big girl room. From red to pink!  It was definitely tugging at my heart as I put most of her lady bug items away, but I kept reminding myself how excited it was making our Princess.
I painted large pink stripes on two of her walls and brought in some pink by getting Skyler the complete princess bedding set and other little items. She loves her new canopy netting above her bed and asked to keep her Papa close to her pillow.

Some "after" shots. (just waiting on the valance to arrive)
Her new mirror with a personalized touch. The pink letters use to be red.
We got rid of her changing table, but kept the armour, bed and cubed storage unit. I rearranged her furniture and hung her accessories in different areas. I think it turned out lovely and I received A+ marks from the Princess herself.
Another personalized item that I just adore. A collection of Birthday & Christmas silver dollar coins in a custom made shadow box from Auntie Nicola and Uncle Bogie.

I worked on the room a bit each day and bye the end of the week it all came together. We started this week off with a day of worship at church and then home for tons of play! Here's Skyler waiting to leave for children's church. Each Sunday, we have christian rock on the radio and it sure puts Skyler in the dancing mood!

Off to church to praise God for our multiple blessings!
Then home to play...Princess Style!

Pink tutu with matching heels....
All girl ahead....
Too cute!
And back for more girly goodies!
So many things are "flying" away besides lady bugs. A baby no more! Our tot has blossomed into a beautiful little girl, growing and constantly on the go!

Let The Games Begin!

Skyler has been learning a lot about the Olympics in school, children's church and at home. The Games of the Olympiad will be extra special to us this summer, since the hosting country happens to be our heritage!
After Sky's evening bath, we sat together to watch the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics. She brought out her hand made liberty torch and crown for the grand event.
We flocked to the tellie and I explained to the Princess about our British heritage and also Queen Elizabeth II. She certainly enjoyed watching the ceremony for it was quite an amazing spectacle. How wonderful to share in this rich tradition with my daughter. It was very moving!

Here's to a 16 day festival of sports and culture across the UK. We will be following it closely, so let the games begin!

Miss Mermaid...

Do hope you all enjoy this 20 second video, taken this past Sunday, of our Princess a.k.a. Little Miss Mermaid. Skyler even smiles as she swims under water. Such a true water lover!

"Dog's" Day!

We traveled to Merritt Island this past Sunday for a pre-birthday celebration. Skyler was ecstatic to see all her "Clark" cousins and of course Uncle "Dog" & Auntie Kevie. It was a prefect gathering and yes, there was plenty of swimming!

Cousin Nikki has an underwater camera and snapped this picture of our little mermaid. Love, love, love it! I'm thinking of adding this water proof device to my birthday wish list! It would definitely get used!
As I mentioned , the whole clan was here! The weather was just beautiful and the pool was very refreshing!
The Clark Clan!
Here are some random pool shots of Skyler with her Cousin Nikki, Jodi and Auntie Kevie. Smiles ahead...

Tammy (Larry & Kevie's niece) and Carter also spent the day with us. Skyler adored their little girl, Lyla. Hard to imagine our Princess was once that little.

Skyler kept Cousin Nikki extremely busy. They looked like two sweet mermaids, as Sky mimicked everything Nikki did. Including holding onto the edge (in the deep end) and letting go so their toes would touch the bottom. Such a daring little tot!

Break time included home made lollipops.

We also enjoyed a hamburger cookout and tasty birthday cake. By the end of the day Cousin Jared & Jordan and Cousin Jodi & Dustin had to start making there way back home. Kisses to Jared. Too sweet!

We briefly got Sky out of the pool and into some warm loving arms....

Family can just make weekends extra delicious! We all had an amazing Sunday. Lots of swimming and tons of smiles!

We finally got Skyler's bathing suit off and her pajamas on....ready for the hour and 40 minute drive that evening. Before heading out, she colored and watched some videos of Cousin Austin cloud surfing in an F/A-18 Navy Jet! Totally cool. See one for yourself at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHB4jta9U3A
Although we miss Austin, we are so proud of his accomplishments and how he protects US and our country.

That's a wrap!
