Goodbye, Preschool.

Preschool is over....
Not just for the year, but forever.

Last month, we wrote the final tuition check. Today, we said goodbye to teachers and students who have been apart of our family since January of 2012. Skyler honored her teachers, Ms. Tina and Mrs. Jenny, with fresh flowers surrounded by gift cards. She also brought cupcakes for her classmates to enjoy during snack time.
Skyler presented each gift to her teachers and gave them a special hand made card. We decided on a "plant" theme, since this christian based school helps each child "grow" in God's love.
 Mrs. Jenny....
 Ms. Tina....
We could not forget the wonderful Mrs Cherry, the school administrator. I have formed a lovely friendship with her, especially when we both lost our Daddies. Call me a sap, but Mrs. Cherry and I cried as we said, "See You, Soon!"
An example of one of the cards we made....
Since Mrs. Cherry played an important role in seeing that Skyler was growing in God's Love, we also honored her with a plant and gift cards.
It's been a year full of growing, physically (4 inches) and emotionally......No longer a Tot, but a sweet and happy Pre-K student. As we were walking down the school hall, Sky looked over at me and said, "Mummy, it's okay, I'm going to a new school to meet more new friends and my teacher is Mrs. Fitzsimmons!"
And with that, she kissed the building and said, "Goodbye, school!"
Tom and I are truly blessed to have such a loving daughter who easily adapts to change. She is a confident young girl who will  have no trouble settling into a new environment.
One year ago....August 1, 2012....
Skyler's first month, January 2012....

Double Dose!

There's nothing greater than being with family and we certainly had a double dose of goodness these past two weeks. Flying across the 'pond" from England was my Cousin Chris, his wife Juliet and his daughter Emily. In between their park hopping, we got to visit them at their Orlando rental home on a variety of occasions.
Two of those days were spent at the pool, relaxing in the sun and catching up since their last visit. (May 2012) The pool saw a lot of action!

 Skyler doing pool rolls....
 and enjoying some water fights....

and lots of quality time together....

Both weekends, Chris fired up the grill and served a delicious spread of burgers, chicken, pork and ribs, along with all the fixings. We definitely drove home with left overs! YUM!

Gammey, Daddy, Skyler and I joined my cousins at Maggiano's Little Italy on International Blvd. We extended an invite to Auntie Kevie and Uncle Dog and were pleased that Auntie Kev could join us! Poor Uncle Dog was still stuck working in Utah. It was a great evening mixed with fabulous food and family to boot!

 Me, Cousin Chris and Juliet....
 Fun with Auntie Kevie....
Our second dose of family fun happened that same weekend, but in Merritt Island. Skyler, Daddy and I traveled East on Sunday to spend the entire day with Auntie Kevie and Uncle Dog. It was a full beach day, a Princess favorite, topped off with plenty of pool activity!

See for yourself......

Pool time back at Auntie Kevie & Uncle Dog's pad....
Uncle Dog taught Skyler how to dive to the bottom of the pool and grab her water toys. After a quick demonstration, our little fish was enjoying her new game with much success!
First the explanation.....
 Next the water toys.....
3rd, jumping in to gain her position
Then the legs get to kickin'!
Finally, the treasure hunt in progress....
After our pool fun, we enjoyed a lovely dinner from our hosts and then finally said our goodbyes by 7:30. As always, Miss Socialite was knocked out within minutes from pulling out of the driveway. Sweet dreams, indeed!
