Me & My Girl

I always enjoy spending an entire day with my Princess, but then again, who doesn't! This past weekend proved to be tons of fun. We started our Saturday morning spending almost 3 hours at the public library. Skyler loves books and shares my passion for reading. Maybe one day she'll go to a book club meeting with me!
 So sweet....
We worked up such an appetite that we enjoyed lunch at the newly opened restaurant, PDQ's (People Dedicated to Quality). Talk about a wonderful eatery that serves nothing but quality fresh food! I was privileged to take a tour of the facility last week with a few members of the school's PTO and was amazed with the cleanliness, genuine hospitality and the fact that there was NOT one freezer in the restaurant. Everything is homemade and super fresh. Our Sweetie enjoyed the hand-battered chicken tenders with the daily cut fries.
Then it was time to shop! We hit seven different stores, even exploring the North side of Lakeland.
 Decisions, decisions!
Before heading home for dinner, we stopped at Lake Morton to feed the ducks. Don't you just love God's creations!

 Love HER so much!

Couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my Saturday!

Masters of Illusion

Last Monday, the whole family scored four free tickets to the live performance, "Masters of Illusion" at the Lakeland Center. Skyler was so happy that Gammey was finally home from Tennessee and could join us. We were all mesmerized by America's largest magic extravaganza. Great show and a wonderful family night.
The next day, the Princess performed her own magic by showing off her gymnastic moves at her weekly gymnastics class! She has mastered the cart wheel and continues to enjoy her Tuesday evening class, excelling on the beam and rope climbing. Thought I share some pictures taken before leaving for practice. She's so funny!

Patrol For The Day!

Recently, Skyler and two of her PreK classmates were awarded "Patrol for the Day" during the morning shift at school. The reward was due to the amount of pledges received during last October's HGE walk-a-thon. Sky was so excited to be a helper with Ellie and Louie. (below)
It's official!

I just love this picture of Sky telling the students a variety of messages from ""Walk" to "Have A Great Day!"
There were five levels of prizes. To date, Skyler has received Level One (bag of goodies) Level Two (t-shirt) and now Level Three (Patrol). Level Four is a limousine ride with a free dinner! That takes place this Thursday and the Princess has already received her invitation. I'll definitely be blogging about that soon.

'Lil Cupid

It was time to bring out the red, the candy and the love! Making crafts with the Princess has always been a treat, but it's much more fun when classmates and a special teacher are involved. I gave Skyler a few options regarding gifts for Valentine's Day and she chose the, "I Dig You!" craft. We created these last year using plastic shovels, colorful M & M's, clear bags and a homemade tag. The only changes we implemented were 12 shovels of the same color (red) and a much cuter tag. Unfortunately, my scanner did not pick up "Your Friend" in pink ink that is located above Sky's name, but as you can see below, they turned out adorable.

Sky filled all 12 bags herself. 11 for her classmates and 1 for her long time friend, Clayton Knowles.
 Fun, Fun, Fun!
All 12 are bags were filled with love, so then it was time to tie each one and include the gift tag. I assisted during this task.
 Wa-LAH!!!
Next came addressing the envelopes for Skyler's personalized Valentine's day cards. Each classmate received one and our 'lil cupid enjoyed writing everyone's name.
 Sweet sample.....
Skyler was so excited to hand out her Valentine's Day gifts the very next morning. Of course, we did not forget our fabulous teacher, Mrs. Fitzsimmons.
We bought her a, "I Love You" balloon and a teddy bear that held a Baskin Robbins ice cream gift card.

Such a cute story behind the creation of this gift. Skyler said, "Mummy, I love Mrs. Fitzsimmons more than ice cream and that's a lot of love!" I knew at that moment a trip to a certain ice cream specialty shoppe was in order......
Along with this gift tag....
There ya have it, Valentine's Day 2014. Since the class was hosting a Ball, Skyler wore her favorite red dress from Auntie Nicola and Uncle Bogie.
Love is definitely in the air!
After Sky's wonderful day at school, I enjoyed spending the remainder of the day with my two very favorite Valentines. Life sure is SWEET and I am certainly one blessed Lady!!

Hee-Haw!

Last Friday, Skyler's PreK class enjoyed a full day of Rodeo fun. I was blessed to be able to volunteer for the event. Of course I just had to capture all the excitement, starting with Sky's homemade 'sock' horse.
 Cowboys & Cowgirls, aka, classmates....
There were a variety of stations for each child to visit. Our cowgirl started her day looking for gold nuggets. Not surprising...lol!
Then a quick pose before cow roping...

 Loved the pole bending activity.
Boy, is she a fast runner....
 Barrel Racing came next....
 Giddy Up!

 A round of horseshoes....
 Great form!
 Skyler actually got a ringer!
Photo Op.....

 Hee-Haw!
A small snack before heading inside to enjoy a class picnic.
Each student got to pick a number for their bib to be placed on the back of their adorable homemade vests. Skyler told Mrs. Fitzsimmons that she is #1, so therfore, she wanted One. Love it! Her confidence level is out of this world. Daddy and I continue to praise her daily efforts. We also remind Sky that Jesus is so proud and just loves her to pieces.
The Bib, featuring "1"...
Great day with my great Cowgirl!
