Field Day

Field Day is an all day event held at the school for students to compete in competitive sporting events. Obviously, this was our first time participating and the day proved to be nothing but FUN!
I volunteered throughout the day, but my favorite part was helping Skyler's class. The teacher divided the PreK students into two groups and I just loved my group!
Here are a few pictures of some of the events, starting with Sponge Bob. The children had to race with a sponge to a bucket full of water, soak up their sponge then ran back to the 2nd bucket squeezing as much water from their sponge into the container. Go Skyler, go!

Sky handed it off to Ellie...
Next came the egg and spoon races. I was very impressed with Skyler's agility and balance. She was the only PreK student who didn't drop the wooden egg.

 Great concentration....

The kids enjoyed the wheel races. Mrs. Fitzsimmons and Miss. Sara gave a quick demonstration.
Skyler was paired with her sweet friend Ellie.
 The Princess had a turn....

 Woo-Hoo!

The children got to watch the 5th graders compete in the harder sporting sections. The girls borrowed our sunglasses for this sunny competition. lol
One of Skyler's favorite parts of Field Day was seeing Mrs. Maryl.
Sky even got to see our friend and Kiwanian Jim LePere.
 Snack time!

Our PreK class! It was such an exciting day and the weather was simply beautiful.
Volunteering at the school not only gives me an opportunity to spend more time with Skyler, but I've been blessed to make new friends. Here are my Peeps! :) Did I mention how blessed I am?

Blooming Beautifully

I love the first Day of Spring. Natures renewal and the Resurrection of Christ! Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping and there is even more daylight which offers extra outdoor play with the Princess! To kick of Spring, last Thursday the 20th, Skyler gave her teacher Tulips and I made a gift tag. We continue to feel blessed to have Mrs. Fitzsimmons as Sky's PreK teacher. Our daughter is truly blossoming into a beautiful, smart young lady.

After school, Skyler finished her homework and we headed to our favorite park, Common Grounds, for a late afternoon of pure fun.

 Monkey Girl....
 Such a Poser....
I just love these colorful stools...such a wonderful exercise. Sky has really mastered them over this past year, gaining confidence with such great agility.

After a non stop 2 hour park adventure, we headed home to get ready for the last day of school before Spring Break sets in. Hope your first day of Spring was as fun as ours!

My Pot of Gold!

Hoping Everyone had a Fun Filled Green celebration on St. Patrick's Day! We started one day early and enjoyed a true St Patty's Day party at our friend's home, Amanda & Martin McCabe. (originally from Dublin) I've not missed their Leprechaun party since I met this dynamic couple in 2004. Heck, I was even designated driver in 2009, thanks to a little bundle of joy in my tummy!
The food was fabulous and it was wonderful seeing our friends again!
On Monday morning, Skyler was extra excited to go to school and share gifts to all her classmates, including her teacher, Mrs. Fitzsimmons.
We got crafty over the weekend and made her school pals rainbows with pots of gold and filled a basket with green goodies for her teacher. Fun, fun fun!
Mrs. Fitzsimmons' tag read "All the other leprechauns are green with envy that I have you as my teacher! Happy St. Patrick's Day! Thank you for making me feel so lucky!"
Sky helped me attach gold foiled Rolo Caramels with tags that read, "You're My Pot Of Gold At The End Of The Rainbow!" She made an extra three: one for her lifelong pal Clayton, one for her new friend Sebastion and one for her Auntie Nic because "she's an artist and I love her!"
Mrs. Fitzsimmons loved her St. Patrick's Day basket!
How can you not feel lucky, but not just on March 17th, when you get to share your day with Skyler Short!

Just Gammey

It was a weekend of bliss for the Princess. During the March 7th weekend, Skyler got to enjoy 3 days with her Gammey. I took her out of school at noon that Friday (7th) and we met Gammey at AppleBees in St. Petersburg for a delicious lunch. I loaded Sky's luggage in Gammey's car, gave her a sweet kiss and began my weekend of bliss with Tom!
Throughout the weekend, I received many text messages from Skyler....Yes she knows how to text. Her Saturday started off with a bang.

They spent a lovely day at Madeira Beach.
 Pure Paradise!
Sand fun....

They even visited the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary.
It is the world's largest bird hospital and bird Sanctuary in the United States. For over 40 years, the Sanctuary has helped injured wild birds. The Sanctuary's mission is dedicated to the rescue, repair & rehabilitation of injured birds and then their release back into nature.

Gammey and Skyler even found the time to swim in the condo association's pool and enjoy a picnic at their favorite spot, "The Tiki Hut". Talk about one exhausted 4 year old.
Daddy and I picked her up on Sunday and Skyler talked about her exciting weekend the entire drive home. Thanks Gammey! We definitely enjoyed the many date nights that didn't include babysitting fees!
