Head Over Heels

Promoting fitness is very important in our family. We're fortunate that Skyler enjoys all types of outdoor activities. She's even been asking her Daddy to take her to the golf course! (still a year away) One of Sky's newest activities is gymnastics. Each Thursday, our bundle of excitement, gets to explore the world of movement by going through 6 to 8 stations of skill-building activities at our local Gymnastics Center, GymTek. Some action shots taken at home before class...

She has mastered side kicks, the pull up exercise and tumbling rolls. Now Skyler is trying to do cart wheels! Her instructor, Miss Leslie, has been teaching her movement skills while building strength and coordination. It's fun to watch. Plus, she's just too darn cute in her tank leotard outfits. See for yourself....

All legs.....

all smiles.....

Museum Musings

Lakeland has been hammered with non stop, yet much needed, rain every single afternoon for over a week. Playgrounds and parks are curently off the summer afternoon activity list until Mr. Sun starts reappearing. In the mean time, Skyler and I decided to spend one afternoon at our local Children's Museum. Her first stop is always to the Publix grocery store.

Perfect for her imagination. I love watching her fill up that buggy and then operating the scanning register. Skyler loves when her Daddy grills steaks, so I wasn't surprise when she picked that food item first. Good taste!

The Airplane is usually a close second...

Our little explorer.....

We always finish off in the basement playing in the Juice Factory exhibit. She gets to follow the oranges on an amazing journey to distant land while she picks, packs, sorts and slides in this fanciful  Florida Orange grove and juice factory.

She loves to "transport" the fruit...

She even "works" the stand...
Before leaving with our umbrella, the Princess visited the tree house one last time. Felt like we were in our own backyard adventure, climbing and exploring!

We enjoyed all three levels of the museum and it sure beats a rainy day! Over 4000 families belong to this amazing museum that is nestled in our cute downtown historic district. We're glad to be one of those fun families!

Celebration Continues

Being surrounded by family is always a time to celebrate, but this past Saturday proved to be an extra celebration! Auntie Nicola, Uncle Bogie and Gammey came over for the entire day and we helped Auntie Nicola enjoy her 46th birthday.

The day started off at the beauty salon, because every girl should look extra pretty at a party! NeNe cut and styled Gammey's hair and was working on Auntie Nic's hair in between the Princess' cut!

Gammey and Skyler played around while we waited for NeNe to finish making the birthday girl even prettier that what she is!

Once we arrived home, Skyler showed Gammey & Auntie Nic her "potty" chart that included stickers. She has finally mastered the toilet and it's Princess panties from here on out! Praise God!

The party quickly began with live entertainment from Sky
Followed by another "Woody" themed festivity! Chosen by the birthday girl herself and definitely endorsed by her #1 fan!

We all wore our deputy badges and enjoyed delicious steaks hot off the grill. They tasted superb even though we ate on paper Toy Story plates.....haha!
Party pics ahead.....

Can't forget cake time! The Princess designed Auntie Nicola's birthday delight. It tasted just as great as it looked!

Sky helped with the candles & was anxious for a cupcake.
Another favorite at any party is gifts! Our Princess helped Auntie Nicola open some of her lovely presents.

Here's our two blondes puckering up after Auntie Nicola opened a velvet box containing a fresh water pearl necklace with matching earrings from Skyler. Pearls are Nic's birth stone.
It was such a grand day. By the end of the night, Skyler read us all book. Again, always the entertainer!
Sweet kisses & warm hugs before driving home. Can never get enough of those! The entire day was perfect and I felt blessed to share in my sister's birthday since it doesn't happen often due to our 2,815 mile separation.
