Sleepin' Beauty

It's never challenging to get our active Princess to bed, weather it involves her daytime naps or her 8PM bed time. As parents, Tom & I feel very fortunate that Skyler responds so positively to her bedtime routine.

Today was the first time Sky crashed on the couch, just out of the blue, by herself. I'm assuming she had a very full play day with Glammey and never possessed the energy to tell me she wanted to "Go see the Monkey"! I wanted to capture this sweet moment and share it with all her loved ones.

Pizza Party

We all know pizza is an instant hit and it's also a simple dish to prepare. We ended our week with a Family Pizza Party. Great entertainment for the Princess as she helped with all the toppings and it was also treasured time shared with her wonderful Daddy!

Skyler had tons of fun nibbling at her leisure while helping Daddy create the perfect pie!

I thought it was quite cute that she watched her pizza cook.......

Definitely a must-do again towards the end of our week!

ABC 123

Being a toddler is all about action & Skyler is full of action when it comes to her many books. The words and pictures have really encouraged her excitement for books. We read several times a day and I try to keep things lively and engaging.

Just recently, the Princess received a birthday gift from our dear friends in Jacksonville, Ron & Debi VanderBaan. Skyler takes delight in opening gifts and she was so happy to get The Big Red Book of Beginner Books. It contains 6 stories and offers an exciting blend of words and pictures.

Thank you so much, Ron & Debi, for keeping our Lady Bug in your thoughts and remembering her on her birthday! We have been enjoying the book daily! Her foundation for independent reading is definitely being formed. Sky is learning so many new words and is also able to count, so I know the books are a huge help!

Speaking of numbers, the Fourth of July is quickly approaching and the Princess will certainly be ready for all the fun festivities, especially after receiving this package from Auntie Nicola & Uncle Bogie.

I can't wait to dress her up in this Patriotic outfit when we go Downtown to the city's annual Red, White & Kaboom Independence Celebration.

She also got 2 pair of cute socks & just had to show Laney....

Thank you, Nicola & Bogie. I'm sure Skyler will dazzle the crowd and be just as breathtaking as the fireworks!

I know I've said this before, but we are truly blessed and very thankful to have such caring & wonderful friends and also an amazing family. We love you all!

Glammey's Girl

"Perfect love sometimes does not come until the first Grandchild"

I've often heard that Grandmothers and roses are quite alike. Each are God's masterpieces with just different names! Skyler and my Mum have captured each other's hearts. At least twice a day, the Princess instructs me (with a sweet please) to "Call Gammey"! They both relish Tuesdays and it's been a joy watching their bond grow since May 29, 2009.

Sun Kissed

Tomorrow is the official first day of summer, but Skyler and I just had to get a jump start on the summer fun. Since Daddy had a 3 day golf outing, we loaded up the car and spent a wonderful weekend with Glammey & Papa.

Beach trips are always a must when visiting the Grandparents in Madeira Beach. I think our Princess will always be a lover of the sand & surf. Here are some pictures of our sunny Friday, starting off with water shots!

The weekend also included tons of shopping and an early Father's Day celebration at Ruby Tuesday's.

We finally left to head back home around 7PM. Although we missed Daddy, it was such a lovely weekend. We've already made plans for another visit in July. Yippie!!!
