Every Picture Has A Story....

Gammey & Papa bought Skyler a tricycle last year and we've had much delight pushing her around the neighborhood. Now that her little feet can finally touch the pedals, Tom is teaching her how to pedal & steer. Although good 'ole American duct tape was used in his method, I promise no one was injured during the process! lol.... Off they GO!
He covered her Nikes in black golf socks then wrapped the duct tape around the shoes and then the pedals (didn't want the gooey stuff ruining her cute sneakers). Once he fastened a rope around the base of the handle bars, they took off and went around the neighborhood for over an hour! Sky's balance has always been perfect and she really understood the motion of pedaling and steering. Once they got back to the house, our Princess just had to show me her new skills!

Perhaps the neighbors thought my hubby was a bit strange when seeing him pull Skyler around the block with metallic 'shoes' , but heck....it really worked! She pedaled herself into the garage, looking exhausted, but satisfied. A fun Friday evening for sure! Yep, those bar hopping Friday nights have definitely been replaced......lol! How do you spend your Friday nights?

Movie Goer!

We've been told that the age of three was a good guide line to start taking your child to the movie theaters. Since we feel that our Princess is quite advanced for her age and that our new theater facility is offering free summer movies to children and their guardians each Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday mornings, Daddy jumped to the opportunity and took Skyler to her very first matinee. They saw Yogi Bear II and had a super duper time.

Skyler was such a chatter box when she got home. Her excitement was so evident as she was telling me all about the big movie screen! I just had to snap a picture of her explaining it all to me!

She even demonstarted some of Yogi Bear moves.....

Daddy said she was spectacular during the movie. The Princess stayed quiet in her seat and just soaked it all in! It was such a success, that they are going back tomorrow. I was quite proud of her! Speaking of proud, Skyler can put on her own shoes and has been doing so this whole week. Definitely growing up and becoming more independent!

Family Affair

We spent another weekend enjoying family, except this time, we ventured to the East coast to see Auntie Kevie, Uncle "Dog" and Cousin Jodi.

Once we arrived in Merritt Island, Skyler was greeted with lots of hugs-n-kisses and also a special surprise welcome from Ron, Debi & Jamie VanderBann, dear friends of the Family! The Princess wasted no time in finding the pool. Jodi, Jamie and Auntie Kevie joined her in all the water fun.

After cooling off and a tasty home made BBQ dinner, we all headed to the Brevard Zoo and took advantage of the Annual Summer Saturday Nights, were the park extends it's hours till 9PM. It was great to see the animals exhibits until dusk. I have many pictures to share from our evening outing, so please enjoy!

One of Sky's favorite exhibits, was the Monkeys. We were lucky to witness a one week old baby with it's mother. Skyler embraced it!

Then she fed some fish with Jamie....

and got to pet a friendly Lama.......

She saw a Rhino and told Auntie Kevie it was, "Dirty"! We all got a good laugh from it.

and Giraffes.....

Laying down to watch the Hogs close up......lol....

Took a break to listen to the Brevard Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Trio....

Sky is a huge fan of music, so pulling her away took effort......

But, all we had to mention was the Cho-Cho train ride and she sprung into action. The whole family rode towards the back, even GranLee!

Group shot taken by Auntie Kevie.........

There was plenty of wild life to see during the ride. Two camels came right up to the car! Sky thought that was super cool. Monkeys swung from branch to branch and even Ostriches were running around!

It was such a great way to end our visit to the Zoo!

We were all exhausted from the heat and walking, so we relaxed while the boys got the cars.

Our Saturday was perfect and we woke up Sunday morning enjoying another sunny day. Sky loved playing in Cousin Nikki's bed. It was sooo comfy, offering tons of pillows!

Breakfast gathering.....

The Princess helped Auntie Kevie prepare a fresh Spinach Salad with strawberries & walnuts.

Uncle "Dog" called it weeds, making Skyler laugh and repeat the word over lunch. She had 2 full bowls. The spare ribs were my favorite!

After lunch, it was back to the pool, before leaving back to Lakeland around 3PM. Did I mention Skyler's love for the wet stuff? lol.....

Sky loves to kick, so it was a splendid way to end the day! All that fun wore Sweet Pea out and she crashed as soon as we pulled out of the neighborhood. A huge thank you to Auntie Kevie & Uncle "Dog" for a marvelous weekend!
