Weekend Wrap Up

Such fun in the Short household this weekend! For starters, Skyler got her 14th tooth Sunday. The lower left canine popped out, creating no fuss, just smiles! While Daddy refereed all day Saturday, Skyler and I made it an all girly day! We started off in her pink pad. She likes to grab her favorites and bring them along.

As you can see in the picture below, she enjoys placing her goodies on the chairs as if they were real people. Quite cute to witness this loving and caring trait!

Laney even got an invite, but after a few minutes she wanted to go! Skyler kept the door closed, but Laney was determined to leave, so she decided to jump out the window.

The weather was finally warm enough to enjoy the outdoors, so that's where we headed.....to the swing!

then a wagon ride around the neighborhood...

Once the sun went down, we spent time working on her artist ability. Skyler loves to color!

All that play made us quite thirsty, so we had a Tea Party for Two, including delicious cakes!

Our Princess is still styling when it's time for bed. Check out her adorable "Life is Good" Lady Bug pajamas from her Auntie Kevie, Uncle Larry and cousin's Nikki, Jodi & Jared. Although we missed Daddy, we certainly had a fun packed weekend!

Before I go, I must share a remarkable story with you all. Skyler's cousin Nikki has a Corgi dog named Lucy. Lucy also spent Christmas with us and Skyler got to see her four legged friend a few days later at cousin Jodi's engagement party. Anyway, yesterday Skyler kept saying Lucy during breakfast. Of course, I was quite confused because she knows her Westie dog is named Laney and she can certainly say it. Well, she kept pointing to the kitchen window, repeating Lucy-Lucy-Lucy. I knew there was no dog in our back yard, but that's when it hit me. On the kitchen window sill was a bottle of dog breath mints and a Corgi was pictured on this bottle. I grabbed it, brought it to her and bingo! This dog looked similar to Lucy. 30 days had passed since Skyler played with Lucy, yet she remembered the dog's face. What a smart little girl! Amazing stuff, huh?

Me, Me, Me!

I recently had a few of Skyler's modeling pictures enlarged and framed. When I arrived home with this 20x24 print, our Sweet Pea voiced a few oohs & aaahs before gently kissing herself.

Skyler wasted no time pointing out all her facial parts and naming them one by one. (definitely a fun exercise) It's amazing how she recognizes all her family members in the picture frames scattered among the rooms. Her verbal skills are developing nicely and her voice is quite sweet.

We hope you all are enjoying the weekend. Ours has been filled with shopping, tea parties, book reading, coloring and (of course) a hint of Barney! lol....

Amazing that are darling Lady Bug Skyler is celebrating her 20th month today. My, what a beautiful and loving toddler she has become. Still that happy, smiley girl who is always on the go! She puts words together when talking, she still takes 2 long naps a day and just enjoys all types of food. Her laugh is infectious and her kisses are so sweet! An Angel indeed.........

Miss Fashion

I promised you all a few movie-star glamorous pics of our Princess in one of her dresses that looks like it was purchased from a exclusive store on Rodeo Drive or Madison Avenue. Vastly unique & quite gorgeous to say the least! Thank you Auntie Nicola & Uncle Bogie.

..and now, without the jacket

...stunning back view

This darling outfit debuted recently, courtesy of Auntie Cheryl & Uncle Charles. I am looking forward to visiting that Baby Boutique in Tennessee during our 2nd Annual Girl's Trip this April!

And waiting in the closet line is this pink beauty from Glammey & Papa. Sure wish they made Skyler's clothes in my size. Now, that would be fun! Dressing like twins...ooohhh the choices!

Who knew dressing the Princess would be this enchanting! Tom and I are truly blessed to have such a loving and gracious family.

Emergency 9-1-1

Skyler's bangs have grown so quickly in the past month that their just about to touch her nose. Bows don't last more than 30 seconds so the only solution was to place a call to my good buddy, Denise. I rang her yesterday to try to make an appointment and she made a house call that very same night!

With a quick clip of the scissors, our Princess could see again!

I got Skyler dressed at 5:50 this morning for Kiwanis and she was quite the happy little girl. I'm not sure if it was attributed to her fresh vision, her gorgeous outfit from Auntie Cheryl & Uncle Charles, or if she was just excited to get ready to see the 40+ men that dote on her! Isn't she Lovely?

After arriving home from Kiwanis it was time for a Tea Party with cakes. Oh, the fun we share!

Special Delivery!

Packages for our Sweet Pea pretty much arrive weekly from Auntie Nicola & Uncle Bogie. They are always filled with edible treats, stuff animals, books, toys and lovely clothes. The latest package recently delivered was extra special and also extra large! Skyler wasted no time diving around the popcorn filler to find two G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S dresses. She even recognized the beauty and certainly felt proud to show them off! Just look at this black leopard print dress. It's so 'Hollywood'!

She is referred to at Kiwanis as "Best Dressed" & at church as "Miss Fashion". I have my family to thank for these wonderful compliments. Here she is checking out her new dresses. I'm sure she's eyeing them up thinking about what type of pretties to accessorize them with! lol...

She even wanted to show Laney her new Fashions!

This dress arrived (same sender) a few weeks earlier...

I just love dressing her up, so stay tune for my next post. I've got lovely photos from arriving home from church yesterday afternoon. Anyway, back to that large package.....resting on the bottom was a massive Lady Bug piggy bank. This thing is almost as big as Laney and Skyler sported smiles instantly! Her bedroom is decorated in Lady Bugs so this will fit in perfectly!

Of course, she had to give it kisses!

We save the boxes until the next day, because Skyler has fun climbing inside them. Perhaps she's making sure she didn't miss anything!

Remember to check back in a few days to see the Princess in one of her dresses!
