Jesus' Helper & Luke 1:31-32

All the Awana members, Cubbies included, had to dress up as their favorite person from the Bible during last Wednesday's meeting. I asked our sweet Angel who she'd like to be and she said, "Jesus' Helper".
Skyler successfully recited her Bible verse for the week, Luke 1:31-32 "...give Him the name Jesus. He will be great..." Sky earned three more apple stickers and even attended an award ceremony after class. She can now proudly display her Hopper patch on her Cubbie vest that she earned on October 17th.
We thought she made an adorable Jesus helper. No, she won't be wearing it for Halloween. Skyler definitely has other plans and is super excited to debut her costume tomorrow. Her school is hosting a Halloween Parade which she'll participate in. Looking forward to sharing all of tomorrow's festivities, from sun up to sun down!

Back To The Patch!

We continued our October family tradition by returning to the First Methodist Pumpkin Patch. Although this marks our 4th trip, 2012 seemed extra special since Skyler attends the school. The Princess explored every inch of the grounds and had a blast doing so!

Pumpkin fun ahead....

Sky gave out a lot of hugs to many of her orange friends. No matter the shape or size. She liked them all! No matter her age, pumpkins still make her smile. Sure feels like yesterday when we were here at the young age of 5 months! You know I just have to share that 2009 picture, so here ya have it....NOW and THEN!!

Skyler found the pumpkin she liked the best, but needed a little assistance from Daddy.

Quick break before visiting the tiny tots....
When Skyler saw the cluster of the miniature pumpkins, she called them little babies. It was such a windy day at the pumpkin patch that Sky had a hard time keeping her dress down when she was standing straight up. These next three pictures show her struggle with the wind with her dress.

Skyler's Marilyn Monroe pose...

Skyler still has that loving & caring nature and proved it when she spotted a pumpkin with sugar warts all over it. She told us that the pumpkin was sad, so she was going to hold, hug and kiss it.
Puckering up.....
Before leaving, Skyler spotted her classroom door and wanted to take a peek with Daddy. We looked through the windows and then called it an afternoon. We always love coming to the pumpkin patch every October. I look forward to this growing tradition while watching Skyler get taller among her orange buddies!

Glamour Time

Gammey can to visit and it was four fun days packed with girly activities. Nails, make up, jewelry and even a lesson in travel etiquette! Skyler sure missed her Gammey when she was in Cancun. They wasted no time bonding after Sky got home from school last Wednesday.
Gammey brought back many cute gifts for the Princess, starting with her very own nail polish and lip gloss collection. Yes, I lost the "age appropriate" battle regarding painting of the nails.

Sharing lip gloss.....

Gammey always comes home with the cutest Cancun outfits and this year proved no different. Sky was super excited to open her last gift.....Disney Fairy Tinkerbell Luggage that converts into a back pack!
Gammey showed Skyler how to use all the zippered compartments for her accessories and taught her how to use the extensible maneuver handle. Many of you know that Skyler will be going on her very first airplane ride in two weeks....So what's a Fashionista without the proper traveling attire?
Sky is super excited about the trip with Gammey and Miss Carol to Tennessee. She quickly filled her luggage with goodies and started "practicing" essential traveling etiquette!

The four days also included a lot of cuddling...
and pretties....

We recently purchased a bike seat and helmet for the Princess. We plan on many family bike rides now that the weather has really cooled down. Daddy and Skyler took it for a test run and everything went smoothly. Our Sweetie loved it and couldn't stop smiling.

A thumbs Up & off they Go!

My precious cargo below....
Laney gave them a final farewell and then they were on there way for an hour bike ride. The two decided to ride over to Reesey's house for a quick surprise visit. It was a great weekend with Gammey and we're excited that she'll return this Wednesday for Halloween and another four day stay!

John 3:33

Another successful Wednesday at Cubbies last Wednesday! Skyler completed the Hopper Trail and earned her first Hopper Patch.
Skyler learned the story of Adam and Eve. She also learned that disobeying God is called sin. I told Skyler that although Adam & Eve had to leave their beautiful home, God made a promise to them. The Bible says that God's promises are always truthful. Isn't God's promise of a Savior the best news you've ever heard? We've incorporated this story with her latest Bible verse, "God Is Truthful" John 3:33
Skyler can now recite two bible verses. She also earned another three apples in her Cubbie book and began learning her third bible verse for next week. I scanned her work sheet to share her coloring talents. I think she does a wonderful job staying in the lines.
Our Happy Little Cubbie....
