Easter Sunday

Easter finally arrived for the Princess! It definitely was a full week of pre-festivities, so Sky was ready! She woke up that Sunday morning and noticed that Mr. Bunny came and scattered eggs inside her home. She was so excited to gather up her goodies and wasted no time. After all, this marked her third egg hunt in just just eight days!
Let the hunt begin.....

Showing Daddy a large blue egg....

Scanning her goodies!
After breakfast, the Princess got ready up for church. Auntie Nicola & Uncle Bogie bought her two gorgeous Easter dresses. She chose to wear the frilly lilac dress and picked out her pretty gold shoes from her Auntie Kevie and Uncle "Dog" Larry. Of course, she didn't forget the pink pearls. Skyler is all 100% girl. Speaking of girl, isn't our Angel growing into a beautiful girl?!
We enjoyed a lovely church service and praised our Lord for His many blessings! When we arrived home, the Easter Bunny left Skyler more eggs to hunt in the front yard. She grabbed her basket and stayed extra giddy.

Gammey drove up and her excitement level tripled!

With Gammey's help and an extra basket, the counting began. Yes, Sky can count past 30. She can sing her ABC's and also every nursery rhyme. Her vocabulary is grand and how she forms such complex sentences, continues to blow our minds!

We were so happy Gammey came to spend the entire day with us. She even stayed the night! Before our delicious Leg of Lamb meal, Sky opened her gifts from Gammey. Talk about one elated little girl! Sweet Pea received her very own electric guitar.
Overjoyed, indeed!

She also opened a case of alphabet flash cards.

And 2 boutique outfits & a pair of capris.

Sky couldn't wait to "jam" out!
Future Rock Star in the works....

After dinner, the Princess and Gammey formed their own little rock band and filled the house with much music. It was quite a show.......free too! Unless you count the cost of each aspirin her Daddy & I took! lol. I just love this picture. All we needed was a microphone!

We certainly enjoyed our Easter as it is meant to be experienced. Praising Jesus, a pastel-colored egg hunt, yummy food and wholesome family fun! Skyler is a true blessing and she is such a well loved girl. She received sweet Easter cards from her Gammey, Auntie Nicola & Uncle Bogie, Ron (Uncle Bogie's brother) Auntie Kevie & Uncle "Dog" and also Bob, Sandi & Bobby Jr (Tom's cousins) from Connecticut. Hope you don't mind me sharing....

Keeping in tradition (yeap, we love some traditions) Auntie Kevie & Uncle Larry sent Sky the 2012 Hallmark's Disney "Pull My Ears" Donald Duck. Each Easter, they have added to her Hallmark Bunny collection. And those gorgeous dresses.....well, it will be quite some time before we have to purchase the Princess a holiday dress. Another tradition started by her Auntie Nicola & Uncle Bogie!
Tom and I do hope you all enjoyed God's gift of love while celebrating Easter with family and friends!

Opening Day + Eggs!

Our family helped kicked off the 2012 Lakeland Flying Tigers season at Joker Marchant Stadium on April 7th. The Knowles' Family also joined us! We all rooted for the home team and enjoyed a 5-2 victory over the Tampa Yankees.
Skyler & Clayton joined the Subway Tigers Den Kids Club. It's for fans ages 3-13. For a $10 membership fee, they receive a t-shirt, membership card, free admission to all Saturday home games, and they even feed our little tots by providing hot dogs and drinks. Sky likes watching sports and she cheered on the Tigers.

After the game, Publix sponsored a special Easter Egg Hunt on the field. Our Princess brought her purple Easter basket and was ready for the action!
Over 20,000 candy and toy filled eggs were scattered across the field. The hunt was open to children under 14 years old. It was well organized and the children were grouped into age categories for safety.
Here's our excited and experienced "egg hunter". The Easter Bunny even made a special appearance.
Waiting for the "go-ahead" with Clayton...

 And off they go!

Skyler even greeted and hugged the Easter Bunny! Such a difference from last week's encounter! Do wish I had captured her happy moment with Mr. Bunny. It was a high-5'in time!

After the egg hunt, we all enjoyed the fireworks extravaganza. The Flying Tigers are a Class A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. We do look forward to many more Saturday home games this summer.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail...

Easter is the springtime holiday marking the rebirth of Jesus and the renewal of the Christian faith. It's also a magical time for children to enjoy chocolate bunnies, marshmallow chicks and jellybean-filled eggs. Skyler's festivities began one week prior to celebrating the life, death and resurrection of our Saviour.

On March 31st, Gammey, Skyler and I spent the day at her school, enjoying a full day of crafts, music, egg hunt and an outdoor picnic. This free event was offered to the Lakeland community. We arrived and quickly found  a table so Sky could dive into the Easter crafts with her Gammey.

After craft time, the leaders grouped the children into age categories for the egg hunt. Skyler was in the 2-3 year old group and was anxious for the doors to the egg hunt to open. Our Princess never skipped a beat. She looked quite the pro picking up the plastic eggs and filling her personalized bunny basket. When her basket became full, she helped the other children by placing eggs in their baskets. Too sweet!

We all grew up singing, "Here comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin' down the bunny trail" and Sky is no different as she knows this song word for word. She seemed excited to actually meet the Easter Bunny (first time), so after the egg hunt we walked over to his special room and I certainly had my camera ready. It was nothing like her reaction for Santa......They say pictures speak a thousand words, so............
Skyler & the Easter Bunny, or I should say a very unhappy Skyler!
After a soothing chat, Skyler did manage to blow Mr. Easter Bunny a kiss goodbye, but was quite happy to get off his lap and get ready for lunch on the church lawn.
We returned to our table and watched a magic show then headed outside and found a spot on the lawn for the provided lunch of hot dogs, cookies, chips and a drink!

After lunch Skyler saw her dear friend Clayton and turned into a world class sprinter to catch up with him to play. Very happy indeed and no Easter Bunny in sight! lol...
The two tots play together so well and actually see each other in school. Although they're in different classes, they always get together during recess and just become inseparable.

We had a wonderful day. The weather was perfect for the outdoor picnic and Sky was overjoyed to share it with her Gammey. I do have two more Easter posts to share, so be sure to "hippty-hop" back for another visit to her blog super soon!
