Praying For Papa!

We began our week by attending a lovely church service and meeting our Pastor afterwards for a special prayer for my dear Dad, Pete. Later that Sunday afternoon, my Pastor's wife, Kathy, called to pray with us again. When you mention Jesus around our home, it sends Skyler into a happy dance! She really does enjoy going to church and we certainly feel very loved!

Today, Skyler & I surprised Gammey & Papa at their home. We also helped sneak in a very special visitor. Auntie Cheryl's Pastor, Brother Green, flew from Tennessee to pray with my parents and to read scripture.

The Princess has not seen her Grandparents since leaving the Family Reunion, two weeks ago and she just couldn't stop her excitement, even in the elevator! Although my Dad is in a lot of pain and still has his ear bandaged up, he too, was all smiles!

Brother Green could only stay two hours because of his flight schedule, but it was a glorious two hours! My parents were shocked to say the least. You see, when Skyler got out of the car, my Mum & Dad were in their garage and she immediately ran to them, providing a great distraction. This gave Brother Green & I the opportunity to just walk arm in arm undetected as I said, "Hi!" When my parents looked up, their face expressions were priceless. (I just wish I would have had my camera ready) My mother broke into tears and my Dad fell to his knees. Brother Green replied in his sweet country accent, "Hi. I just wanted to stop by and pray for you!"

Words can not express the love Brother Green has for my family. He is a true warrior for Christ! I also want to thank my many, many friends and loving extended family for their constant prayers and support. I am asking each one of you to please say a special prayer at 2:30PM, tomorrow (Tuesday). Please pray asking God to give the doctors wisdom as they perform the four hour surgery and also pray for my father's strength and a quick recovery. I look forward to reporting back real soon that my Dad is cancer free. God is good in ALL ways!

Mama Mia!

Our family spent a wonderful evening this past Saturday night with our dear friends, Skip & Maryl Richey. We met at the Palace Italian Restaurant, which happens to be a quaint family owned establishment, serving delicious dishes since 1997. Once we got seated, Skyler wasted no time and immediately started coloring.

We actually felt like celebrities, thanks to all the free goodies our server kept delivering to our table. He probably couldn't resist Skyler's charm, so that should explain the free appetizer, free dessert and free after-dinner liqueur, Lemoncello. It was so refreshing, so full of flavor that I felt we were dining in Southern Italy!

Sky thoroughly enjoyed the bread!

Skip & Maryl with their luscious lemonchillo......

Such a great night with great friends! We are planning another outing soon. After dinner we all came back to our home for some cocktails and a fun board game, which I won, btw....hehe

We let the Princess stay up past her bedtime so she could draw and play dolls with Maryl. Maryl helped me put Sky to bed and our Sweet Pea was very gracious with her good night kisses. When Skyler woke this morning, she said, "Mummy, is Miss Maryl here?" Just sooo adorable!

Tub Fun!

Recently Skyler received Tadoodles tub crayons from my Kiwanis friend, so we put these washable Crayolas to the test. It proved to be a fun bathtime coloring experience!

With each scribble, dab, and wiggle our Princess' imagination grew! The product definitely inspires toddlers in creative art experience. They fit perfectly in her hand & even float in the water.

And of course, bath time is never complete without splashing, kicking and floating. Pretties included!

Pink or Blue?

Since Sunday, our adorable Princess has actually requested wearing a dress each morning before we begin our day. I find it comical that at such a young age, she is already asking me what she'd like to wear!

We all know that Skyler's bulging closet offers a variety of choices, so she personally picked out a pink dress for Monday and then a blue one yesterday. Thank you Auntie Nicola & Uncle Bogie for these recent gifts! No matter the color, I just think she looks beautiful in anything. Yes, I'm the Mum and quite biased...And perhaps a bit jealous that I don't have the matching outfit....lol!

I'm assuming Skyler grabbed my keys, in hopes of us venturing out. Guess she was eager to show off her style! She's got the Elvis lip workin' in this picture.....Happy Wednesday.

Future Student

School started today, so Daddy was back to teaching advance math at Summerlin Academy. This past Saturday, Skyler & I helped Daddy with some finishing touches in his class room. The Princess had a good time the moment she walked up the steps to his portable.

Skyler quickly found the white board along with all the bright colored markers and began drawing.

After a few colorful master pieces, she helped her Daddy put tennis balls on the chair legs.

Playing 'student'......

And what's a table without some dancin?.......

All that fun stirred up an appetite for a snack......

It was time to explore Daddy's desk and play on the computer. Believe me when I say that this two year old knows how to navigate a mouse!

Skyler then wanted to help put some water bottles in the mini fridge. This kept her quite occupied running to and from the storage room.

Two hours later, we decided to lock up and head back home, so we could get ready for some Outlet shopping. Sky really didn't want to leave, but she grabbed her personalized Ladybug book bag. (adorable gift from Auntie Cheryl & Uncle Charles)

Before driving off the school property, we made a quick stop in front of the administration building to get a few pictures of Daddy and his little girl next to the artillery gun. It was a fun afternoon, but it made me think about the future when we have to drive Skyler to her first day of kindergarten. Tissues, anyone?
