8 Months Old!

Happy 8 Months, Baby Skyler!

Our little Sweetheart turned 8 months old today. Hard to believe we had her 35 weeks ago. My, how time flies. It has just been a wonderful journey and the greatest blessing ever. Skyler is a mover and a shaker with a mission to find out about all the fascinating things around her.

She started her morning with her favorite exercise routine. 'Round-n-'Round the dining room table she went!

After catching Laney, we then went outside to greet our mailman. Skyler received a birthday package from Auntie Nicola an Uncle Bogie. Inside, we found the cutest two outfits. Yes, I know what your thinking....MORE CLOTHES!!! This child definitely has so many beautiful clothes to choose from each morning. I have my wonderful family and special friends to thank! She has yet to wear the same outfit twice.....she is certainly a blessed and loved little girl.

Above, Skyler's 8 month old birthday gifts.

She continued to explore the house and play with her Christmas toys. What a fun Friday! Happy Birthday to our sweet, sweet Skyler!

Aren't these pants just so adorable? It's a 9 month old outfit from Auntie Nicola & Uncle Bogie. She sure is growing!

Child Proof Time

You guess it! Skyler is highly mobile and loves to explore, so it's time to make our home a safety zone. On goes the cabinet locks to thwart access to off-limit items and time to turn the lock to the "ON" position for the wine refrigerator. Of all the cabinets we have throughout the kitchen, and boy do we have a lot, our curious little princess found my beloved wine refrigerator first! How ironic. I'm wondering who she takes after? There are a few wine lovers in this family......Perhaps Glammey? Maybe Auntie Kevie? Or could it be me?? lol....Wait till Daddy hears about this.

Skyler had her usual morning exercise chasing Laney around the dining room table. After weaving in and out a few chairs, she finally caught her. I think Laney was just being nice and caved in to that sweet face!

Obstacle Course

As many of you know, Tom and I were blessed to move the business (office part) to our home two weeks ago. This has made mornings so much easier and quite a lot of fun. Having all of Skyler's amenities is not only handy, but wonderful!

After breakfast, Skyler likes to get her exercise in by chasing our Westie dog, Laney, around the dining room table. It's hilarious to watch, because she seems determined to catch her and Laney just plays along.

I must share her in action.......from chair to chair, following Laney......on her own little obstacle course! Skyler really gets amused as you can just hear it in her laughter. (she's wearing the most adorable football pajamas from Miss Helen)

Skyler sets her eyes on the prize, Laney....

Off she goes....

Such focus and determination....

Laney is within reach!

Almost there....

Time to turn around and start again....

Get Well Wishes

Skyler and I traveled to Tampa, this past Saturday, to visit my dear friend, Micki Caldwell. We have been the best of buddies for almost 20 years. She recently had surgery on her right wrist and I thought what would be a great way of cheering her up? You guessed it, Skyler Leona!

We had such a lovely day together that we promised to return in two weeks for a much longer visit.

Now Skyler had to show off her crawling skills and ventured throughout Micki's condo. She came face to face with a cat! Our little angel is not accustomed to seeing kitties, but made friends quickly with Snuggles.

Our weekend continued with more play time with more Christmas toys. Below are pictures of her very first Minnie Mouse from Cousin Jodi. Glammey & Papa bought Skyler her own baby stroller. She enjoys her toys so very much!

5 Star Friday

Wishing you a 5 star Friday from the Blog Star herself.........

Skyler's coordination and strength has improved dramatically. She's got the combat crawl down to a tee and is cruising at full speed all over the house. She is trying to use the furniture to pull herself in a standing position, but her little legs just aren't sturdy enough. I'm sure she'll be walking in no time.

Skyler is such a clever girl. Just a few simple demonstrations and she's got it all figured out. I just started teaching her baby sign language and will report on that as it develops. She knows all the buttons that will make sounds & light up the gadgets on her toys and she can even start the propeller on her airplane. Here she is putting her learning tools to use!

Welcoming.....

....Tooth #2

Yes, family & friends, we woke up to Skyler's singing this morning and found tooth #2! What a great way to start the day. As I mentioned many times, Skyler is truly a happy child and teething has not gotten in the way of her jolly behavior.

She's waiting for her day to start. In other words, "Hurry up & get me outta this crib!"

Speaking of cribs, this is on the wall next to it.

When Skyler and I went shopping with Glammey last Saturday, I found this awesome ottoman/coffee table. Because of her crawling, I realized it was time to put the glass cocktail table away and replace it with something child friendly. I think we did pretty good. Attractive, colors match the decor, and it's also functional! Now, I'm sure in due time, I'll have to remove the accessories on it, but for now, it's safe!

A Day With Glammey

Skyler and I enjoyed a fun girl day with Glammey this past Saturday. We shopped, played, and Skyler got to explore every inch of her grandparent's condo. As you all know, little Miss Active began rolling/scooting at 4 1/2 months. I thought she was mobile then.....now she is crawling and in a space of just one week, she sure got faster! This baby can move and definitely keeps Mummy on the go! She loves to see her reflection in any mirror or glass door and boy did Glammey have lots of this, so off Skyler went.....to check out her mug shots! She quickly found the french doors as well as the exterior glass/screen door.

After shopping & exploring, it was play time! Skyler loves her toys, but she also entertains herself quite well. Here are some random shots of our Saturday. We always love spending a full day with Glammey and seeing Papa!

Big girl, standing all by herself!

Once we got home, it was doggie time. Jamie (below) is so gentle with her. We finished off the weekend watching the NFL football playoffs and, of course, more play time! We hope your weekends are as much fun as ours!
