Flyin' In

I apologize for being a bit behind in my blogging skills. It's been quite a busy work week not too mention  the many evening activities with the family. Anyway, with that said and speaking of family, last weekend Auntie Kevie and Uncle Dog flew their Piper Cherokee plane into our quaint Lakeland Linder Airport Friday afternoon to spend the weekend with us!
Skyler was super excited to pick them up shortly before 5PM. Although it was chilly, Mr Sun was still shinning.
It was pretty cool walking right out on the landing tarmac to personally greet our Meritt Island guests! Sky was eager to see the cockpit and kept reminding us that she'll be in a plane next week!

After tying down the plane and grabbing the luggage we headed to the car and drove home to enjoy a wonderful meal prepared by Tom, including home made clam chowder.
Of course, Sky wanted Uncle Dog to visit with her in her pink playhouse. The two shared stories over a tea and cake party.

The Princess also had to show off her newly redesigned bedroom, complete with a big girl bed. Yes, Skyler got a twin bed from Santa, so we said goodbye to the black toddler sleigh bed. I'll have to do a future post and share pictures of her adorable Princess bedroom.

Skyler continued "Show and Tell" with Auntie Kevie and Uncle Dog. She's fearless on her Polaris and has the moves to prove it!

After dinner, we enjoyed hanging around the fire pit and worked on some paver art.

Come Saturday morning, we all enjoyed breakfast in Mulberry at Joshua's Kitchen. We then spent the day at Lake Hollingsworth to watch the Orange Cup Regatta boat races.
Althought the wind was kicking, we bundled up and had such a fun time.

Skyler enjoyed looking at all the race boats.

We even took a stroll to the "pit" area and got up close and personal.

Later that night, we went over to Lakeside Village to bd's Mongolian Grill and created our own stir fry. It was a pretty neat interactive dining experience. You choose your own ingredients from a great variety of choice meats, seafood, vegatables and flavor packed sauces and spices. The food is then prepared by expert grillers on a 600 degree 7 foot circular grill.
We left with full tummies and big smiles, especially after sharing a delicious portion of fried oreos for desert!
Once we got home and got settled into our pajamas and Auntie Kevie read Skyler some bedtime stories.
Come Sunday morning, we said our goodbyes and then got ready for church while Daddy drove them to the airport. We were so blessed to have the Clarks stay the entire weekend. Being with family just makes everything sweeter!
