Treasured Trip

Although Daddy was greatly missed, Skyler and I had a fabulous time with Glammey & Papa at Hutchinson Island. I can understand why vacationers call it relaxing & beautiful! It definitely is peaceful and quite private. We arrived shortly before noon on Thursday and after a quick wardrobe change, we found ourselves enjoying the beach immediately.

Hutchinson Island offers the best shelling opportunities around. Because the beaches are left naturally groomed by nature and not by man, shell treasures are abundant on the shores. Skyler and I enjoyed hunting for all types of beautiful shells. As you're probably already aware, we made our own little note to Daddy using our discovered shells and posted it in a prior post. Here's Sweet Pea checking out her collection of shells and then showing Glammey & Papa her new treasure. Yes, she just had to go topless towards the end of the day!

The Island is a chosen nesting destination for some of the most endangered sea turtles. We were fortunate to stumble across Florida's wildlife at it's finest! The nests are monitored daily and Skyler enjoyed peeking in on the hidden eggs.

After a tasty visit to Alberto's Pizzeria, Skyler had a warm bubble bath before bedtime. This tub was amazingly large and could have passed for a kiddie pool! She had tons of fun.

FRIDAY:

Our balcony view was spectacular and was certainly used during each sunrise & sunset! The coffee just seemed to taste much better than it usually does from my Lakeland patio. Skyler also seemed to enjoyed her morning juice much more.....lol

It was back to the shoreline for us all. Skyler had the same agenda as Thursday, BEACH FUN!

We stayed put Friday night and just relaxed on the balcony. Skyler loves eating cookies, especially the chocolate chip variety! Smart girl, huh?

SATURDAY:

Skyler began her morning with Baby Mozart before heading to the pool with Glammey & I. After a nice dip in the pool we had a playful game of chess. Finally something Skyler's size! It was a real hoot to watch her interact with the chess pieces. She liked the Queen piece the best.

The weather was beautiful, so it was back to the sand & ocean and of course, more chocolate chip cookies for our little one!

With it being our last night on the Island, we decided to go out to dinner in Jensen Beach. If you desire a taste of New Orleans, I strongly recommend Crawdaddy's Blues Club & Restaurant. Skyler was all set to experience her first taste of Cajun creole!

We had such a delcious meal, but the entertainment was even better. They had a live jazz band performing outside on the deck, but the indoor activity was ten times better! Sitting next to us was a lovely couple from North Carolina who had a beautiful 17 month old daughter named Jacqueline. The two became friends instantly and they provided a delightful show!

We exchanged email addresses before leaving and I'm looking forward to keeping in touch with Jacqueline's mother, Susanne. She's close to my age and is also experiencing motherhood for the first time. It was fun sharing stories and it seemed so bizarre on how much we had in common. We arrived back to our Villa and enjoyed the rest of the evening. Another fantastic trip indeed!
