Weekend Splendor

This past weekend, our family drove to Merritt Island to spend three days with Auntie Kevie and Uncle "Dog" Larry. Skyler was excited to visit and it had been a long over due, three months, since we've all got together.
When arriving that Friday evening, the Princess was showered with hugs, kisses and many birthday gifts. She just loved the Toy Story wrapping paper! Her Cousins Jodi & Dustin bought her this adorable Doodle Pro. It has an extra large magnetic drawing surface, two shaped stamps, saver pan and the easy slide eraser that magically cleans the screen.
Next came a Princess Bowling Set....
Followed by the cutest pink riding horse that makes the neatest sounds. A perfect match with her pink boots!

After opening a few of her gifts, we enjoyed dinner at a quaint pizza joint in downtown Cocoa. There was a park across the street, so of course Skyler had to explore. It involved lots of climbing and tons of sliding!
She's fearless....

Off to the highest point...

1-2-3 Weeeeee!

This felt like it went on for hours! She had a great cheering squad.

We then walked around the pavilion area and strolled the boardwalk along the river. It really was a beautiful night to spend outdoors.

The night was topped off with Auntie Kevie reading Skyler a book before she crashed in Jodi's big bed.
Saturday was BEACH DAY! The Princess was totally excited to build sand castles and play in the water.

Skyler definitely discovered adventures.

Shell collecting with Auntie Kevie...

Water fun shots...

Warning....Happy Girl ahead!

More sand digging....

Organizing her shell collection....

Skyler is no stranger to ice cream and is certainly a fan, so when the Ice Cream Trolley passed, Auntie Kevie introduced her to something totally different. Her very first Snow Cone!

She really enjoyed all the colors & flavors!
Practicing her future "surf moves"

Girl time....

More relaxing...
Once we arrived home, Uncle Dog grilled delicious ribs for dinner and then we hung by the pool. Too chilly for us, but not for Daddy and Laney.
We let Skyler stay up way past her bed time and she lasted until 10PM, but started rubbing those eyes. After some goodnight lovin, she fell asleep immediately!

Skyler was still opening birthday gifts come Sunday morning! She received a memory game, coloring book, a magnetic princess kit and a Toy Story sticker book.

Skyler played legos with Uncle Dog after our yummy blueberry pancake breakfast.
We spent all day Sunday relaxing at the house. A perfect ending to an amazing weekend. Skyler helped Auntie Kevie make home made play doh! I got the recipe and we'll be making a variety of colors.

Pool time with the entire family!

Skyler loved the water and proved it by constantly jumping in and swimming to the steps. (She has begun  one-on-one swim sessions this week and after the second day, she has already swam about 6 feet on her own!)

Our Aqua Tot didn't let the life jacket slow her down one bit. She kept jumping to Auntie Kevie and swimming to the steps. I had a blast watching her.

More pool fun....

After a full day in the pool, we changed for dinner and then Sky played with some of her gifts before heading home that evening.

The pajamas went back on so it would be an easy transition to bed. Skyler never napped the entire weekend, went to bed late and still rose by 8AM, so I knew she'd fall asleep in the car and stay that way until morning!
Goodbye kisses & hugs...

We had such a lovely visit and it's always sad to leave. Thank you Auntie Kevie & Uncle Dog for a weekend to remember! Auntie kev, you're the best Martha Stewart around :) We love you both!
