Labor Day at the Lake!

Skyler returned the Lake Roy to enjoy her 5th Labor Day weekend with her family. It was four full days of plenty of swimming, boating and some water skiing!

The Princess spent the majority of her time in the pool. She's become quite the driving pro and really enjoyed her dive sticks. 

Skyler was happy to reunite with her cousin Nikki and Auntie Kevie....

 Sun up or sun down, Skyler could be found at the pool! 

 If she wasn't in the pool then she was down at the lake!

One of the highlights for Sky during the holiday was meeting her second cousin, baby Mason!

Daddy and I even got to meet the little Munchkin for the first time.

 I'm officially a Great Aunt!

On Sunday, we all pitched in and rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed a relaxing day boating the famous Chain of Lakes. We were fortunate to watch Legoland's, "Pirates' Cove Ski Adventure." We anchored with other boats and watched the great live action show that lasted 20 minutes.

It was a perfect day to enjoy the warm sunshine in our faces and the refreshing waters of Winter Haven's many lakes. here we are enjoying a quick snack before boating off to the next lake.

Definitely a fun day in the sun. The Princess was exhausted by the end of the evening!

In between all the water sport fun, Skyler had some quality girl time with Ashley Vanderbaan. Ashley and her husband Dan adore Skyler. The Princess received her very first french braid from Ashley!

The big event occurred on our last day at Lake Roy. Uncle "Dog" Larry, taught our water lover how to ski with the help from cousin Jared.

They shared a few practice rounds on the shoreline and Sky was ready for her big water ski debut!

She was so excited and was not scared at all!

Auntie Kevie guided Sky into the water as we all loaded up in the boat to witness a sweet four year old skim the surface of Lake Roy! 

I'm not kidding when I tell you that we have a quick learner on our hands! Here she is getting ready for her "deep" water start!

Sky has great balance and her gymnastic coach states that she has wonderful upper and lower body strength. I think those skills came in handy. Check out the newest and youngest skier in the Short Family!

It would be an understatement to say that Skyler liked it! She was hooked and Uncle Dog steered many trips around the lake.

Even after a spill, she got right back up to do it again! Nothing but smiles and laughter!

We had a very proud daughter on our hands. She keeps asking when are we taking her for her next water skiing trip!

Skyler shared her adventures with Mason....I'm certain he'll be the next family member keeping the skiing tradition alive!

It was another fun filled, family vacation and the dogs even had a super time!

Hard to believe this was Skyler's 5th visit to Lake Roy! Sharing quality time with family is always a blessing! Here's our 2013 family photo op (Thanks, Nikki).....Laney was probably hunting down a scent so she missed the picture! lol
