Weekend Wonderland

Last weekend, Skyler had 4 days of packed filled family fun! We started the weekend in Orlando that Friday afternoon. Auntie Kevie, Uncle Larry, Gran Lee (Uncle Larry's Mum), Cousin Jodi, Cousin Jared, Jordan & Dustin met us at Pointe Orlando on International Drive. It was such a sunny afternoon, proving to be a great day to be outdoors.

Skyler has always enjoyed water and when ever she sees a fountain it becomes a magical time! She truly loved the tropical scenery and the soothing cascades of the fountain with Auntie Kevie & Uncle Larry.

After some shopping, we relaxed amongst the lush landscape before dinner. Here is Skyler loving on Gran Lee, Auntie Kevie & Uncle Larry, Jordan & Cousin Jodi.

By 5:30, it was time to feast on the wonderful food at Maggiano's Little Italy. Skyler is always well behaved in public and this time proved no different. She experienced her very first menu and high chair in a restaurant! Seeing this made me realize my little baby is turning into an adorable toddler.

Here are a few snap shots of our fantastic evening spent with Tom's family!

After sleeping over 13 hours, Skyler woke up refreshed that Saturday morning and took a trip with us to Tampa Airport to pick up some family members from Connecticut. She met her Daddy's cousin Bob Larson and his wife Sandi.

Skyler's fan base grew larger that weekend and she loved all the attention, especially bed time reading from Sandi.

That Sunday, Skyler, Sandi and I spent the day at Hollis Gardens located on Lakeland's historic Lake Mirror. We strolled around the formal 1.2 acre botanical garden on a gorgeous day. The garden tells a story of Florida agriculture as you move through the theme rooms of plant life that include several displays of flowering plants, ornamental shrubs, historic trees, herbs, vegetables and Skyler's favorite.......water features!

The family weekend continued into Monday, were we met Uncle Larry & Auntie Kevie in St. Cloud at The Catfish Place for a traditional, home-style dinner. Skyler ate everything from grits to cabbage to red snapper! She even liked okra in this friendly setting.

While waiting on our meal, Skyler enjoyed passing the time with Auntie Kevie and a paper napkin. She gets the biggest kick out of shredding them ino tiny pieces. It was a another super dining experience with our sweetie. Always the happy, entertaining little Angel!
