We've had quite the busy week playing, reading and drawing. Skyler loves her Fisher-Price Little People Sail 'N Float Boat from Auntie Kevie & Uncle Larry. It really does float and it's become her new favorite bath buddy! It comes with a removable fishing rod, a lifesaver and a captain figure. It even plays a cute tune.
I thought these picture were so grown-up like. The Princess has been enjoying her birthday stocking stuffer etch-a-sketch pad from Glammey & Papa. The beauty of this gift is we save on tons of paper!
The heat wave continued this week, but it never stopped Skyler from playing outside on her gym set. Sometimes she uses the ladder and other times she likes to conquer walking up the slide.
Cousin Matt surprised Skyler this week with a book in the mail. She loves to read and I love seeing her book collection grow! She received one of the greatest childhood classic books of all time, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". This book has been described as having sold the equivalent of a copy per minute since its publication. (1969!) The colors are vibrant and Sky likes to name all the different types of food that the caterpillar is munching.
I was able to capture the Princess praying before enjoying a slice of her cake. No matter if it's breakfast, snack, lunch or dinner, when the food is presented, she always folds her hands together and says, "Pray", even over plastic food!
It's wonderful to see how Jesus is working in her heart. Yesterday, Skyler received her very first 14K gold cross and a pair of silver lady bug earrings from my parent's dear friends, Sally Rae & Jerry Schmeer. They live in Palm Harbor and have been an important part of my life for over 30 years. I'm looking forward to the day when she can start wearing her "real" pretties to church every Sunday and I can tell her the lovely stories behind them.
