The downtown streets were lined with thousands of people watching Lakeland's 32nd Annual Christmas Parade. We were apart of that 30,000+ crowd last Thursday, the 6th. In fact, it was OUR 2nd Annual and we were quite happy to share it with the Piney & Hawxwell Family.
Daddy and Miss Linda arrived the day before to set up and rope off our chairs. Yes, the chairs are still there 24 hours later. It's just a silent rule that most everyone respects. We arrived around 5 for the 7PM parade. The girls quickly checked out their view of the route.
We decided to stroll a few blocks north to Munn Park and look at all the Christmas decorations. Skyler loved all the bright colors and many decorations.
The Girls!
The Princesses with their Kings!
After a quick glance at the watch, we made our way back to the chairs and Skyler visited with Linda Piney before the fireworks began. She also wanted to introduce her bestie, Reese, to Miss Linda.
Let the fun begin.....
Bring on the floats and the marching bands!
Some photos taken during the excitement...
After enjoying over 100 beautifully decorated floats and listening to the many High School Marching Bands, we knew the end was near when we heard bells jingle and a heavy Ho-Ho-Ho shout coming from a distance. The Princess was in Awwww!!
We all stood to see Santa & Mrs Claus. I think I enjoyed watching Skyler's face more than I did the parade!
It was a lovely way to start the holiday season. A Christmas Parade shared with family and dear friends.
