Christmas Joy....Part 1

The Holidays were simply amazing, thanks to our Princess, Gammey, and dear friends! Although it was our first Christmas without my Daddy and he was severely missed, we knew Papa's presence was spiritually with us, giving that much needed comfort.

Wow.....were do I even begin! This Christmas, Skyler was so understanding of Jesus' birth and quite aware of Santa's occupation. On Christmas Eve, the Family attended the 6PM service at our Church. It was an evening singing much praise to our Savior!
After the service, Gammey and Skyler picked up our poinsettia plant that was dedicated in the memory of my most amazing Daddy, Peter L. Green.

Throughout the month of November, our church sold these lovely red plants as a fund raiser and throughout the month of December, these momentums were on display during each Sunday's service. A large poster was made listing all the dedications. Here is the lovely tribute.....

After our Eve festivities, we arrived home and got ready for Santa. Skyler placed his delicious cookies and cold milk in last year's spot. With a sweet kiss good night, our Princess was tucked in Gammey's bed eagerly waiting Santa's arrival. And eager she was!

Skyler woke Gammey up at 3AM, telling her she had not heard Santa's bells. Gammey soothed her curiosity, explaining that Jolly Saint Nick will only visit when little girls and boys are fast asleep. The two snuggled up and dozed off until 6:30 Christmas morning.

When Skyler went to bed the night before, the tree was quite baron under neath. Sky sprung out of bed and ran down the hall to our bedroom to wake us up. Santa definitely visited our good little girl!

She could be heard for miles screaming, "Santa came, Santa came!" and she even noticed the empty glass and crumbs on his plate.
Let the magic begin.......

The Princess even helped Daddy, Gammey, Laney and I open our gifts.

New squeakies for Laney!

After unwrapping all her gifts, Skyler wanted to share her laptop with Gammey and insisted they "Get to work!" A work trait inherited from Mommy for sure! Here she is sporting (at the same time) new pajamas from Gammey and a new bathing suit top from Santa.

After breakfast, Skyler and Gammey enjoyed playing with the new princess castle.

A good hour went by before the door bell rang and our Sweetie sprung into action to see who or what was waiting on the other side.
Upon opening the door, Skyler was greeted with a new Black and Gold (go Steelers!) motorized Polaris. She was definitely shocked, could not stop smiling and kept repeating, "Santa remembered my car!"

After a quick wardrobe change, Sky acted as if she just received her driver's license! It was GO from the start!

Daddy and Laney did their best to keep up with our newest 'Mario Andretti"! I'm wondering when I should start telling our Sweet Pea about my past Corvette Racing life, multiple racing school appearances and a my hired profession as a Lexus sports car instructor! My-Oh-My! lol

Our Christmas morning was packed with so much fun and continued throughout the afternoon. After a brief one mile drive south, we arrive at the Hawxwell's by 2:15 and enjoyed tasty appetizers, fresh cocktails, a delicious dinner, but more importantly tons of love!

Leah's Mum, MeMa, aka Louise, surprised us all with glittery hats that we wore the entire night. Great picture below of us "hot" Mamas!
My dear friend and Skyler's best friend's Mommy, Miss Leah.....
Reese and Skyler opened more gifts from Mema & Grandpa Lance and also exchanged gifts from each other.

Always a grateful heart......
Daddy was pleasantly surprised with a special gift from Leah & Jim.
No longer did the girls have to share and take turns! They get to ride side by side. Although it was so cute to see Skyler let Reese enjoy her new toy. Sharing makes friends!

After a wonderful meal, we all enjoyed a relaxing evening, kids included!

Pictured from left to right: Tom, Sky, Jacki, Gammey, Janet, Reese, Jim, Leah, Louise and Lance. Talk about a special Christmas! I just adore my new extended family! Holidays are truly special when shared with those who mean the most!
The next morning, Sky enjoyed playing with her new dress up carousel from Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Charles. It included many dress up outfits and seven new pair of shoes! Auntie Nicola and Uncle Bogie also gifted a trunk full of Princess costumes!

The holidays with Gammey came to an end on the evening of the 26th. We all decided to enjoy our last night together at Olive Garden. Gammey will be spending a month visiting Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Charles. We let the Princess ride with her favorite partner.
As soon as we entered the Olive Garden, Skyler asked if Brother Green was going to be joining us! How's that for a remarkable sharp memory! Every time Sky visits the Olive Garden in Tennessee (especially last month) Brother Green (Cheryl's Pastor ) enjoys lunch with our family.
The evening was lovely and we cherished our last few moments with Gammey until 2013!
Pop by the blog mid week and enjoy our Christmas gathering with the Clarks. I look forward to sharing Part II with you all.

  3. What awesome pictures!!! Mum is beautiful, and Sky looks more like you every day! There are a few pictures that she looks like Chez when she was little. It is also nice to see that she is keeping her Papa's eye color and shape.
