Skyler, Laney & I had a fabulous time spending the weekend with Gammey & Papa while Daddy was rooting on the Gators against Alabama in The Swamp. We even got to see Auntie Cheryl and added another event to our lengthy collection of firsts!
Gammey always has goodies for the Princess, including bottles & bottles of magic bubbles. Each time we visit, it's the first item Skyler goes to grab. Playing with the bubbles turned golden when she finally blew her very first from the wand. It was quite thrilling to watch her excitement after each successful attempt. It definitely created some wonderful photo opportunities! Papa & Auntie Chez cheered her on.
Princess got serious & decided to stand up....
Check out her bubbles......
She even tried to catch them with the wand....
Once Sweet Pea emptied a full bottle, it was time to relax and enjoy some coloring. Skyler knows all her colors, even purple!
It was lovely spending time with Gammey, Papa & Auntie Cheryl. Papa's spirits were high and Skyler gave him many kisses and hugs, especially before leaving. She even shared her most valued possession, Mr. Bunny, with her Papa!
One story I must share regarding Skyler & her Papa. On Saturday morning, my dad was cleaning and re-bandaging his leg. Sky saw the large, bright red area where the skin had been removed for the skin graph. She stared at it during the entire time he had it uncovered and kept saying, "Ohhh" with puckered lips. When we went to church the next morning, she told everyone that Papa's leg was poorly. I had more ladies come up to me and ask me what was wrong with my Dad's leg. At first, I didn't understand until they explained Skyler's remarks. Amazing that a 2 year old could retain that vision and have it affect her so much that she would share it with others. She really is a loving, sweet little girl!
"Our Girls" just before leaving.
