Mickey's Playground

It's been quite some time between posts and I do apologize. I guarantee you all that "The Star" herself is having fun filled days, while adding to my book of "firsts"! Each day we create more fond memories and I do have so much to share...........So, let's wind the clock back towards the end of September and dive into some fun!

On the 25th, we traveled to meet Tom's family at Downtown Disney. As soon as Skyler saw the first card board Disney character, she immediately started naming the entire cast from the Mickey Mouse show. By the end of our gathering, Sky called Downtown Disney, Mickey's Playground! I can only imagine her excitement when she takes her first steps into the Magic Kindom.

Once we arrived inside the entertainment district, Sweet Pea was mesmerized by the colorful creations made of millions of LEGO bricks that was scattered around the LEGO land retail store.

There was a 3000 square-foot outdoor play area where she was encouraged to unleash her imagination with hundreds of thousands of LEGO pieces. Although this was Skyler's first attempt building with LEGOs, she enjoyed every minute of it! I captured some pictures of Sky & Auntie Kevie enjoying interactive play!

Although it was tough tearing the Princess away from these fun outdoor activities, we actually went into the store and found more LEGO work stations. Skyler grabbed her cousin Jodi and off to building they went!

We strolled around the shops before making our way to Disney's Boardwalk, a village on the water, casing sherbert-colored building facades with rising columns and archways. It is designed after the boardwalks that were famous during the 20th century along such coastal cities as Coney Island & Atlantic City.

A Princess and a Princess!

It was only a five minute drive to Disney's Boardwalk. We entered through Disney's Resort and it definitely captured the charm, whimsey and elegance of 1940's Atlantic City. Here's a quick shot of cousin Nikki & Skyler inside the resort lobby.

Skyler had plenty of running room and took advantage of the authentic boardwalk that was 1/4 mile long.

We ate dinner at Big River Grille & Brewing Works.

and then relaxed while some of us enjoyed ice cream.

Skyler is a water fan, so watching the boats come and go on Crescent Lake with her Uncle Dog & Auntie Kevie was pure joy, especially when they sounded their horns!

It was an enjoyable Sunday and certainly great to share with her three cousins! We said our sweet goodbyes and left just before the sun was starting to set.

Hugs-n-kisses to Cousin Jared & Jordan

A quick smell through the garden before entering into the Resort lobby. The covered patio even offered relaxation to toddlers with pint sized chairs. A cute photo indeed!

I won't wait weeks between posts, honest! I'm back into my routine, so check back in a few days. I've got gymnastic pictures to share along with lovely photos of Sky & her Grandparents, plus a birthday party and AWANA news!
