Skyler and I captured the spirit of the Valentine Holiday with chocolates and beach shovels all rolled into one fun craft. We made "I Dig You!" presents for 15 classmates and an extra one for her friend, Clayton. We were convinced it would be a delightful treat. Chocolate M&M's and a beach shovel=Happy Toddler!
We started off designing a template and then printed our very own signed tags on premium photo paper.
Then we gathered all our goodies to assemble, which included clear heart bags, M&M's, plastic shovels, tags and ties.
The Princess did a fantastic job scooping the candies into the heart bags.
I did catch her sneaking one into her mouth as she worked.....Hey, everyone's got a weakness! lol
Three scoops per Valentine and almost sixteen bags later, the bowl was just about empty.
Shovel time! Pink for the girls and White for the boys.
While Skyler assemblied the gifts, I punched holes into the tags and wrapped them around each bag/shovel.
And there ya have it....16 adorable Valentine's Day gifts for 16 special little tots! Sky was super excited to hand them out. Sorry we couldn't share this post earlier in the week. We didn't want to spoil the surprise.
Each gift also came with a home made photo card.
And of course we could never forget her two teachers, Miss. Alexis and Mrs. Jenny, plus the school's director, Mrs Cherry, whom Sky adores.
The teachers got decorative bags filled with M&M's and Mrs. Cherry received a mason jar that we decorated with pencil and apple stickers. We attached this heart shape note for the finishing touch. The above picture was taken shortly before leaving to school. The Princess picked out a red-n-white plaid skirt and a cute heart shirt. Perfect for the day!
