After enjoying five days in Mobile, Alabama (Go Daddy Bowl game included) we picked up the Princess from Gammey's and jumped back into our routine of school, homework, gymnastics and Cubbies. Although Skyler had a wonderful vacation with Gammey, Auntie Nicola and Uncle Bogie, she was excited to return back to school this past Tuesday.
I think we brought back the super chilly weather because it was 42 degress on the first day back to school! Sky still wore a dress (turtle neck) but sported a pair of leggings before putting on her jacket. Just love my Golden Girl!!!
We are so proud of Skyler's progress in school. She is writing so well, follows instructions from her teacher to a tee and understands set comparison. Here's a sample of one piece of school work. It demonstrates how Skyler can follow directions (red, red, green pattern) and also use her craft skills involving scissors and glue.
Beginning next week, Skyler will be introduce to Science and will be bringing home many experiments to share. This is were Sky will teach US which is a great way to make it known that we think what she's learning is important. In between homework, Sky still enjoys playing with her many, many ponies. It's fun to observe her imagination!
All the Christmas decorations have finally been put away. In addition to her 2013 ornament I shared last week, Sky received two more before Christmas. Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Charles bought her the most adorable porcelain Santa that came in individual pieces. Skyler had to thread each one through the hook which she liked to do because, as she said, "It's my own creation!" Gammey added to her collection with the cutest Elf on the Shelf ornament. I don't think we'll ever forget about Oh-Ko!
Many have inquired about Skyler's soccer progress. She finished her first season in mid December and earned a trophy. She enjoyed the Saturday games and even scored a few times! We look forward to another season soon.
