Farm Fun!

You've just gotta love a Princess in pink farm boots!

Skyler had a magical time during her eleven days of vacation in Tennessee. The first week was spent without me and I'm certain she did not miss either myself or her Daddy one bit. In fact, it took four days before she had any desire to engage in a phone conversation. Needless to say, Sky was very occupied throughout her trip and it went something like this.........
Each morning, Skyler enjoyed a delicious breakfast of fried eggs, freshly picked by herself, an english muffin and a banana.

The days were filled with plenty of trips to the barn mixed with a ton of exploring on the farm's beautiful ten acres.

Mousse, the donkey, aka Sky's #1 Fan, was greeted with daily hugs and kisses!

Chores included gathering the fresh eggs and taking them up to the house for a good washing.

There was some time for art....
A shopping trip into town produced an electric microphone! Skyler has been saving her money for two months to make this grand purchase, but Uncle Charles surprised her with the gift.
The Princess wasted no time providing free entertainment to all the animals. She definitely had a captured audience and performed throughout the week!

A lot of swimming took place!

On Saturday, the 3rd, Auntie Cheryl, Gammey, Skyler and her Tennessee gal pal Darby, went to Smokey the Bear's 69th Birthday party at the Ocoee Whitewater Center.
Before leaving  to the party, I just had to share a "refrigerator" picture of NOW and the very FIRST time Skyler visited the farm....April 29, 2010!
The special birthday party was to honor the symbol of wildland fire prevention and of course, Smokey the Bear. As sad as it is to report, Smokey the Bear never showed up for his own party! The girls made the best out of the situation and explored the many scenic trails and enjoyed watching some white water rafting, which was the location of the 1996 canoe, kayak and slalom Olympic events.
Skyler and Darby received  party favor bags before leaving.

After a fun filled day, the girls enjoyed each other's company on the farm and in the pool! In fact, the rest of the week was spent with Skyler's furry friend and a lot of swimming.
I was reunited with the Princess on Thursday evening, the 8th, at the Chattanooga Airport. Her hugs and kisses were as sweet as ever!

Auntie Chez, Gammey and Skyler took me to my favorite Tennessee Restaurant, Big River Grille. So Yummy!
I knew my weekend stay would quickly go by, so we got started on our fun first thing Friday morning, after a lovely performance by Skyler

Us "Green" girls went into town to visit Auntie Chez at work and then enjoyed lunch and shopping (what else!) Skyler insisted on visiting Papa's tree before heading back to the farm. It had grown tall and slender, just like Papa's grand stature.
 Papa's tree marker....

 Group shots...

Skyler's kitty friends were waiting her arrival!

Gammey treated us all to a wonderful dinner later that night at a local Mexcian restaurant.

Once returning home, we made a trip down to the barn to love on the animals before going to bed.

 Silly goat!

All the animals adore Skyler....
 Gathering up tomorrow's breakfast!

Wow......a full dozen!

 Goofing around...
Saturday was a full day of relaxation spent in the pool and sun!

Skyler became a fan of the diving board and did countless jumps. So brave and so effortless...

She found numerous ways to jump into the pool!

We went to praise our Lord at Kinser Church of God on Sunday. Skyler and her furry mates were featured on the front page of their monthly newsletter!

Since July, Skyler has been doing certain chores to earn a much desired spotted dog from Gammey. The chores continued on the farm and on our final day of vacation, Sky was surprised with the dog while checking for eggs one last time!

I introduce the newest addition to the Short family, Lucky...

Our last afternoon on the farm....

By 6PM, we headed to the airport, Lucky included, and boarded the plane that flew us home into Daddy's arms!

 Snack time!
Another fabulous Tennessee trip! Thank you Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Charles for always providing great food, comfortable beds and generous portions of love! Skyler has already asked me when we are returning!
