Our Kiwanis Club started it's annual bell ringing for the Salvation Army today and guess who brought in the most donations during her shift? How can you say "No" to a sweet smiling blonde sporting the most fashionable red dress? Impossible!
Skyler and I had a blast ringing with fellow Kiwanian and dear friend Sandy Bates at Southgate Publix. I explained to the Princess how the famous red kettle is a century-old Christmas symbol, helping shoppers remember the less fortunate during the holiday season. Many of those shoppers would give Sky the money so she could do the honors.
It only takes one shift to raise enough money to provide two nights of shelter and four warm meals to men, women and children who enter their facility each day. We certainly celebrated the joyous Christmas season by volunteering. This was Skyler's second year in a row ringing the bell and it definitely is a blessing to others and to US!
All in a days fun!
