Lakeland's Christmas Parade

Thousands of people lined the streets for Lakeland's 33rd Annual Christmas Parade and we were proud to be among the 33,000 plus crowd! Like the past few years, Daddy and our dear friend Linda Piney, arrived the day before (Wed, the 4th) to set out our chairs in our same coveted spot on Tennessee Ave. They tie them down and we arrived the next evening around 5:30PM for the 7 o'clock festivities.
We munched on some tasty street vendor food while waiting for the fireworks to kick of the City's Holiday tradition.

The fireworks were only three blocks away and could be easily seen in between the store alleys. Skyler is a huge fan of these explosive pyrotechnic devices!

 The Princess with Miss Linda...

Let the parade begin! We enjoyed watching over 100 beautifully decorated floats and listening to the many school's marching bands. Sky remembered the LHS band from all those past football games.

Our Sheriff and my friend, Grady Judd. I was excited to get him to agree to become one of my Kiwanis guest speakers. Total Score!
 The breath taking Budweiser Clydesdales....

Skyler received a wave & a special thumbs up from Ronald McDonald...
It was a great way to start the Holiday season, considering it was a muggy 77 degrees! This morning at school, Skyler got to visit with Santa and yes, it's the same one from the parade! How neat is that?
