Daddy/Daughter Day

Skyler and Daddy started a new tradition yesterday. Daddy/Daughter Day! Yeap, NO Mummy allowed. It was a full day of activities between the two of them that began with an all day trip to Gatorland in Kissimmee.

The weather was gorgeous while they explored the 110 acre theme park & wildlife preserve, starting with the boardwalk to the gator and crocodile exhibits and breeding marsh.

Gatorland is internationally known as the "Alligator Capital of the World", calling it "Old Florida" charm. I guess you can say that "Old" charm was introduced to our "Young Southern" Charm!

Daddy said the Princess was fascinated with the albino gator...

Skyler watched her first unique alligator wrestling show done "Florida Cracker" style. The gator wranglers catch a 6 to 8 foot alligator by hand & climb onto the snapping animal's back to point out survival features.

After doing stunts, the alligator is rolled over and put to sleep...only to be awakened by a tickle!

On a softer side, they stopped by the bird area.....

Speaking of the softer side of the animal world, Skyler got to interact with goats, so the oohh's and aahh's were definitely present as she enjoyed these cuddly critters! She'll have an abundance of farm animals to love on when we travel to Tennessee in a few weeks. I just love the innocence of these pictures.....

I guess no park is complete without some water adventure. By the end of the afternoon, our Sweet Pea spotted the water zone and made a quick dash to the wet stuff. Daddy brought a change of clothes so he let her soak up every drop of it!

After a good towel dry & quick change, the two left the park and found a nearby restaurant for dinner. I had kissed Skyler goodbye that morning at 9AM and by 6PM, I got super excited when I heard the garage door open. My family was home safe and sound and I was anxious to hear all about their day together. I hope you all enjoyed the pictures as I told their adventure through Tom's eyes.
