Birthday Blast Off

What a great way to end May and begin June by sharing Skyler's 3rd Birthday party with her dear family and friends. This little girl was excited the moment she woke up on May 26th, a.k.a. party day!
With a quick "Blow Kiss" to Laney, we left the house shortly after 11AM and headed to Explorations V Museum. I was fortunate to have Gammey, Daddy and Micki to help me set up the room with all the "Toy Story" theme decorations.
Everything was in place. Matching plates, napkins, balloons, food and the Birthday Girl herself. Such an appropriate chair for the Princess! Eight of her friends came to take part in the grand festivities! Bella, Ben, Boaz, Cameryn, Chris, Clayton, Myles & Reese enjoyed pizza, cake and all the museum's activities with Skyler. Here are a few randon shots taken during pizza but before cake time!

Check out her "Woody" cake. We've become good friends with Leslie, the Publix cake decorator. She has done all three of Sky's birthday cakes and designed this two layered beauty. We did manage to sneak in some pink, thanks to the plastic pig :)

The children were just as excited as Skyler when we lit the candles. You can just see how giddy our Sweet Pea was in the next few pictures. We all sang Happy Birthday and she did a great job blowing out the candles.

She even took time out to pray.....

Hugs from Reece during cake time....
Next came the presents. Skyler received such lovely gifts from her friends and family.

And she received Woody from Gammey!

Skyler was so excited, she couldn't believe she finally got Woody.
It's always nice when your own friends celebrate your daughter's birthday. Pictured below is Rebecca Knowles and Micki Caldwell, my bestie!
Skyler got to meet her second cousins from England for the first time. How special to have my cousin Chris and his wife Juliet and his daughter Emily for the big day. They're vacationing in Orlando for two weeks, so we'll see them again. Yeah!
After the party, the children went downstairs to explore the museum while some of the adults went home. Big hugs and kisses from Micki.
Play time shots....

Joining in the fun....

Although Gammey bought Skyler some beautiful dresses, hair accessories, socks  and sandals, Woody was still the number one hit!
Gift opening continued all weekend. Just when I thought the last gift was unwrapped, more arrived. Gammey had bought the Princess some pretties from New Orleans, along with the outfit she's wearing.

Woody Shirt from Auntie Cheryl & Uncle Charles

Special delivery from Idaho.....

Silver Birthday coin (a tradition).....

More gorgeous dresses from Auntie Nicola & Uncle Bogie.
Sky just had to sit in the Fed Ex box when she opened her sweet card with some surprise money from our dear friends Maryl & Skip Richey. She even counted her loot! lol...

Here's Skyler modeling one of her lovely dresses from Auntie Nicola & Uncle Bogie. Although she likes "boy" toys, Sky loves to wear dresses. If it was up to her, she'd even wear them to the play ground!
After a slight break, Skyler opened a few more presents. Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Charles bought her Buzz Lightyear. She immediately ran to get Woody so the two could be united!

Last but not least, some goodies from "NeNe", my dear friend Denise.

Skyler received the cutest Levi Bermuda shorts and top outfit, swim mask & flippers and another Hallmark interactive storybook staring Nugget, the story buddy. This makes her 2nd gift book, First Jingle, now Nugget. Too cute...
I just can't thank those of you who remembered our Princess on her third birthday. Your gifts, cards and telephone calls were just so wonderful! Skyler is truly blessed to share her life with you all. It definitely was  a fun birthday. Gammey spent all weekend with us, so the excitement just rolled over into the next day. Love sure is the greatest gift of all! As Buzz Lightyear would say, "To Infinity And Beyond!"
